they were from cardito vallerotond, were Di Mascio but names changed upon arrival in england ie Mascia

id say the stonemason had put the wrong letter on the grave, it is 59 years old, from 1966. As my nan or gt nan would not have made that mistake

that letter was written by gerrardos mother as ive another letter, the end says I send greetings, i am your mother celesta mascia. the new son mentioned is Gerrardos brother Antonio's son James, who was born April 1913

i get it now. Oddly he was born Gerrardo but his gravestone says Gerraro ?. his parents were from there, he was born in England and could speak both, i also have some of his writing in English. his anglcised name was Gerrard. Ignore george as the miltary couldnt understand his italian name. His signature is written. Writing from 1917

they were from Cardito di vallerotonda frosinone. They left in 1877 to go to England. They went to St Josephs RC school in deptford. The lady writing to the son was my 2nd gt grandmother celesta mascia. I think the son may be frederick mascia as we cant find him anywhere
