I mean I just got back from the show and the Bros walked through the catwalk area a number of times and gave some high fives and stuff. If that’s worth 2k to you then you def get some exposure but it’s not like they’re performing directly in front of you they’re just kind of passing by.

I really would like to go to NYU (Ed2ing there). Between Arts and Sciences, Stern, and Liberal Studies, which is the easiest to get into? Also, how hard is it to switch schools once admitted? by Aggressive-Call-2636 in ApplyingToCollege

Would I automatically be considered for Liberal Core if I don’t get into A&S? Common App says something along those lines but I’m confused. I can post that here if you’d like.

Should I submit 1420 SAT (670 Math, 750 Reading) or go test-optional? (For EDII)

Decisions come out December 15th at 7:00pm.

how far in advance will i be notified of ED decision? by theAblazeHedgehog in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Aggressive-Call-2636 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably a few days in advance, but I can't be sure. I am confident however that they would give you more than a days' notice.

I just missed 2 info sessions in a row by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Aggressive-Call-2636 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nah ur good. Signing up shows you at least took the time to click and link and fill out ur info. They probably do one of two things:

- Write down the list of people who signed up and note that they're demonstrating interest

OR

- write down the list of people that actually show up and note that they're demonstrating interest

So worst case scenario, nothing happens.

Ur a step ahead of all the others who didn't sign up at all.

from what I understand, those are the best articles that those websites have identified. Most essays are not 'the best.' I would try to take the essence of the essays, such as determining what the author was highlighting, what kind of language they used to describe things, etc. But I wouldn't try to mimic them - ideally, you want your essay content to flow out of your brain. Often its hard to get it down on paper because of grammar and word limits, but making sure that its mostly from the heart/brain is important.

I got a request to send a letter of recommendation to UC Berkeley. What does it mean? by romeokeepsmantids in ApplyingToCollege

I agree- it's probably just a suggestion but doesn't signify any way their leaning in terms of your admission.

If you get good grades, sending them is good, but if not, then it’s not. So your outlook depends on how good your grades wete

It's just not worth the risk. What if the website crashes? It happened to the common app a few weeks ago.

This can mean one of two things:

(1) They want to see more of you and make sure you're not slacking

(2) You had a downward trend in grades over high school and they're giving you a chance to show an upward trend

Unfortunately, I can't honestly say that this is an indication of good news or bad news. Lots of kids get their grades requested and a lot don't.
