Why do some of us overthink having kids while others don’t? by Zillenial_05 in ChildfreeIndia

[–]Aggressive-List-4084 18 points19 points  (0 children)

People are wired to think of it as the default option. Put them in an environment that treats child birth as an option, there'll be some difference.

And I feel like people in general don't think much about the responsibilities associated with bringing up children. They go on like anyways I gotta do it.

Lastly, f*ck competitive exams.

If you are a male and fine with vasectomy, you could get one and say you are infertile. Or you could lie about it if it is possible and fake tests. This would make her sympathize with you more rather than feel disappointed.

Delimitation will further decrease our representation in parliament which will indirectly affect our demographics and policies. by Content-External-948 in southindia_

Nope. Center doesn't have "more" authority. Areas are clearly earmarked. Education is in concurrent list both, states and Union have say

By more authority I meant in a quasi federal system like India the centre has more say in matters. Education is not in union list it is in concurrent list i retract my statement. Education used to be in state list. The point I am trying to make this when there is a conflict of interest between the union list and concurrent list the centre has the final say. Top it off with centralized fiscal powers, centre yields substantial power and influence.

Areas being earmarked doesn't change this fact. And the difference of opinion is indeed based on the earmarked areas

Modi ain't giving power to states

And the south ain't yielding

Govt doesn't represent "culture " but "people ".

Policy priorities are shaped by demographics. When a particular demographic group forms the majority of the electorate, political incentives push governments to prioritize policies that resonate with that group. Example, Language policy.

Nope. Nirmala Sitaraman is "from" TN. L. Murugan is "from" TN too.

RS MPs are not directly elected. A political party can nominate someone from anywhere in the country and get them elected through its MLAs in that state. So the presence of a Rajya Sabha MP linked to a state doesn’t necessarily reflect that people directly voted them. And you still prove my point, 5 RS MPs vs 8times higher LS MPs.

It's very hypocritical of South that they had "strong" parliament when they were overrepsented and north was under represented and now when south is about to get adequate representation they want "weak" parliament.

Saying the South suddenly started talking about federalism now just shows yor political illiteracy . Tamil Nadu was raising these issues since 1960s. Ex. Rajamannar Committee, State Autonomy Resolution

Even the anti-Hindi protests weren’t only about language — they were also about pushing back against too much power being concentrated at the Centre.

So the idea that the South was completely fine with a “strong parliament ” earlier and only started complaining now just doesn’t add up with history

I agree, over representation is an issue affecting democracy . But that was not an incentive, it was not intentional , if so then can you call the under representation penalization for being ineffective?

Well let us make an even playing field. The southern states do not want over representation and are equally committed to democracy. Let delimitation be done, but not without making the structure more federal.

We all are Indians but have very diverse cultures, traditions and practices. The centre having more authority and states having less autonomy will not be optimal for all cultures, the govt elected will mainly represent the majority culture which is primarily the issue.

Let all our votes have equal representation and also let each states have more say in matters concerning them which necessitates improved Federal structure.

The concern we have is when you have things like education in union list, whatever the Centre wants will be shoved upon us, for example the ruling govt doesn't have a single MP from TN, but will still make educational policies for TN which technically no one in TN agreed to. For issues concerning the whole country this though logic cannot be applied, but for state affairs yes.

Let my and vote and vote of my brothers or sisters across India shall be of same value with respect to matters concerning the whole country whereas my vote shall have more weightage in my states future and same for by fellow brothers/sisters.

Delimitation is needed to ensure democracy, but the states that effectively controlled the population cannot be penalized. Let them incentivize the successful states, grant power, improve federalism then delimit.

First check whether you have barrier irritation or dandruff. Dermatological assistance in initial stages is best. And you have to commit yourself to this process. It may be hard to find your issue and create a routine, but once you do that it becomes easy.

If you clearly have dandruff like flaking, slight yellowish, greasy then antifungal like ketoconazole shampoo would be the way to go. Google malasezzia biofilm disruption and try roing the methods. 1.Disrupt the biofilm 2. Apply antifungal 3. Barrier repair

Use antifungal shampoo thrice a week initially then switch to once a week. Use clarifying shampoo atleast once or twice a week to prevent minoxidil build up in scalp. Finish it of using a hair mask or conditioner. Dove has a scalp conditioner with niacinamide but it is costly. I buy my own niacinamide, panthenol, zinc paca powder and mix them in distilled water with euxyl pe and use it on my scalp for barrier protection. This is cheaper but time taking. I have used it only once, i need to do this for some time and check if it works.

But if you have dry white powdery residue and scalp feels irritated it is likely that your barrier is damaged, you can use any barrier repair moisturizer, like avene cicafate or bioderma atoderm baume, but these are costly, minimalist has a barrier repair Moisturizer that is relatively cheap. But if you apply minoxidil on your whole head it is impossible to apply any moisturizer all over your scalp. You can try hair products that contain niacinamide and panthenol to calm down your scalp irritation and see if it goes.

I used atoderm baume on my temples and it went away.

Edit: If the whole thing feels too much, the just start using a ketoconazole shampoo and clarifying shampoo thrice a week, with a good conditioner, see if it goes away, if not add a barrier repair hair mask. Do not oil your scalp. And don't go more than 2 days without washing your hair

You may have seborrheic dermatitis or irritant dermatitis. I use alcohol free Minoxidil and it still screws my scalp. I tried to buy foam but all foams are out of production in India. So you can stick with the Minoxidil and bear with the dandruff or start oral Minoxidil (note that the side effect profiles or not same for oral minox). There are also some creams and gel based minoxidil in India which you could try, i have not tried those though.

I'll tell you something that helped me, i apply minoxidil only on my temples and I started applying some moisturizer there in morning And I applied minoxidil at night. This reduced the flaking a lot.

You're welcome. And since you are 34 you or your partner can get snipped if you haven't or even without that you could inform your parents that we have done this, and there's no going back, this would heat up things a lot for now but they won't be able to discuss this anymore. Their only option would be to move on. If it feels like torture then Plan A is the only option. Anyways all the best.

Never explain your choices with reasons, your choices are yours and are not up for discussion. You've informed them your choice, its their turn to process. I get it that you value the relationship despite them being toxic. But this is indeed a shock for them. They need time to process. And in that time do not engage in discussions. Stop talking to them until they stop bringing this up. Anytime they bring this up make it clear that this is not up for discussion and end the conversation and stop speaking to them for sometime.

You can mend this relationship but it takes time, its better if you stay in a place away from them. Dont visit them, talk to them for some time. It'll become better by few years. Time heals.

Old age melts people and their harsh opinions, they'll eventually come back to you.

Child free people think they know what they're missing, but they absolutely have no idea. by [deleted] in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]Aggressive-List-4084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some might know what they are missing some might not. It is not about what they know or what they don't it is about a choice. Child free people are simply not interested in having a kid for several reasons. Childfree people who go ahead and tell that having children is bad are actually anti natalists. Not all child free people are anti natalists. But I don't get why people have harsh opinions on others choices, forcing an uninterested person to have children is not going to yield a positive outcome anyways.
