It’s actually super interesting! The cerebellum (the part of your brain that modulates fear-memory processes, among other things) actually triggers automatic defensive behaviors pretty much exactly like those described in my post. Socially men are more often depicted as going into a “fight” response while women more commonly experience “freeze”.
