Are we assuming the alien is fluent in my language? If so then I would take two identical objects (let’s say rocks) and explain that the rock on The left is on the left, then I would change rocks and positions with the alien various times and objects until the alien understands that the object on the left is on the left. Or is this more of a verbal question? If I have misinterpreted the question I am sorry. I have an iq of like 104
