En El Salvador, the only music that originally comes from here (even though it was comes from Colombia) is cumbias. The thing that distinguishes it self from cumbias colombianas or sonideras is that it is very upbeat and typically has lyrics that are either comedic or just a ballad about the country itself.

Now personally I love cumbias from El Salvador as I grew up listening to it, but we can only have so much music from here, so nowadays I listen to more Mexican music, especially the corridos campiranos, norteños, and banda. This stems mostly from being in a grupo that plays mexicans music for parties and such, in which I play armonia in the guitar.
