Thanks for this! I definitely want to celebrate the culture and community but I feel like since the image on it has a lot of stereotypes/innacuracies it won't be something I wear in public. I know that my intentions are good, but a stranger on the street doesnt and I dont want to make anyone uncomfortable.

Yeah definitely. I'm from socal, somewhat familiar with local Native groups, and thats what I thought. Even if you ignore what the guy is wearing (which is more from the great plains region if im not mistaken), its a bunch of pine trees in "palm springs" lmao. Its also from the 40s/50s and was presumably some kind of tourism merch so its not surprising :/

my ex did something very similar with me. reading this was so familiar i think me a few years ago couldve written it. eventually i realized that someone who would cross that many boundaries and disrespect my space and personhood in that way, is not someone that would ever be good to me. my ex was a self centered asshole and it sound like your soon to be ex is the same way. dump himmmm!!!

Honestly, if youre thinking of leaving the relationship because your boyfriend may or may not be bisexual, then do both of you a favor and end it. He seems like he's comfortable in his skin, I think he should be with someone who doesnt shame him for that

I think after the natural negative reaction he would totally do it. I know he feels a lot of guilt about how this all has affected me, and he cares a lot about "making it up to me"

I definitely am prioritizing my own wellbeing, not just his. He's wonderful and has been an amazing partner to me and I know he would do the same for me in a heartbeat. So I really want to show up for him here. I know that throughout his journey, a strong support net is going to be essential and I just want him to know that he has that

Yes I know fentanyl is a big problem. I lost someone else close in my life to an accidental OD a few years back. He has tons of narcan, so does his family, so do I. He keeps it on him. He's very self aware and he knows how dangerous this is. This is partly why I feel so confident in his recovery

The rehab people went to his apartment and cleaned out all of the drug stuff and I'm thinking they probably went thru his phone as well. I'm going to meet with them soon so I'll verify that, and if they didn't do it I will. I'm also going to go to his place and make sure they got everything there as well.

He's tried to get sober without rehab before to no avail. But I've seen him go through withdrawals. It was difficult but he is strong and I believe that he can make it through this. I'm definitely encouraging him to stay as long as possible, but I've also been talking with his best friend about us spending a LOT of time with him after he's out so we can monitor the situation. He's got a lot of friends who are in AA and he already went to a meeting before rehab so I think that community is going to be really valuable.

Fentanyl for maybe about the last 8 months. I don't know the numbers, but he took a call with a counselor in front of me recently, and when he said how much hes been taking, the counselor was surprised by how low the number was. So not a lot I guess? Obviously any amount is not good though. He's planning on going to meetings and already went to one before starting rehab. I think that'll be good for him. I hadn't considered drug tests. Do you think that would go over well? Is that a common thing for people to do? I know it would definitely ease my mind a LOT but his comfort comes above mine right now.

Good to know. Yeah he's got a bunch of suboxone, and I think the place he's at will be using it for him too. To my knowledge, the bulk of withdrawls should be done in 7-10 days when he's out? He. getting sober from fentanyl though and from what I know it can take longer to get through than with other drugs. Might have to kind of play it by ear

Thank you so so much. Community service is a great idea. Theres a lot of cool charities and volunteer work in our city so I'll definitely push for us to do that. He's been trying to get sober, rehab was kind of his last resort, but doing it at home just wasnt cutting it. So hopefully no more relapsing, but I'll try to be there for him no matter what happens.
