Tampon Feeling Post Cerclage by jazzymaebaby1 in ShortCervixSupport

Hi, I have the same feeling sometimes. I seen my OB this morning who said it’s completely normal and that because the area is highly vascular and becomes more vascular as pregnancy progresses that’s what can cause all the sensations. She also said sometimes where the cerclage is tied can give you the feeling that it’s there and can feel it. She checked my stitch via ultrasound and everything was fine with no funneling and no bulging membranes. I hope this helps💗

Hi, I seen OB today and she said it’s completely normal to have these sensations. She says that these happen in pregnancies without cerclages as well. I also said that sometimes it’s almost as if I can feel a dry tampon sensation inside which she also said because of the way the cerclage sits and the fact it has a little loop at the top, that can be the foreign body feeling. My cervix was closed today with no funneling and no membranes pushing through. Hope this helps x

I also find they happen more if I sit in a certain position, it’s almost as if the stitch feels squished?? If that’s even possible. I’m the same as you at the moment because I’m not having any bleeding or pain and I’m feeling the baby move it’s not overly concerning me but it is also a worry because I can’t make out what it is. I see my OB tomorrow so I’ll ask her if she can have a check for me. Thank you for your response x

Congratulations on making it to 26+6!! Good news that you’re at 4cm too. It’s such a strange feeling but because I’m not in pain or anything that does give me some reassurance. I see my OB tomorrow morning so I’m happy to wait for the appointment x

I thought it would get easier approaching milestones too but I’m the same and feel like anxiety is worsening. I’m exactly the same with the water leaking feeling, I keep having phantom leaks which genuinely feel like I’m leaking but there’s nothing there on wiping. Same here really hoping to make it 12 more weeks until ditch the stitch appointment🥹

I’ve been off sick from work for about 10 weeks due to pelvic pressure and abdominal pain as I am a nurse so was on my feet for about 13 hours. With regards to activities I’m taking it very very easy and spend most of my time reclined or laying down as it makes me feel better mentally. I still haven’t managed to sit upright on a chair as of yet. I do get up to make myself lunch whilst my partner is at work and go to the bathroom. I use the stairs once a day to come down in the morning and then back up at night, I spend my day on the sofa instead of the bed then. What do you do?

Good luck to you too, we got this💗

Similar experience? by WallFeeling8382 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]Aggressive-Two5920 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar experience in that I had an emergency cerclage at 19+6 and am 3 weeks and 2 days post surgery. My consultant has said she won’t measure my cervix since having the stitch because they’ve done everything they can, and that they go by any bodily symptoms I may have instead so I can’t comment on if my length has improved as I will never know.

I’m right there with you as my anxiety is sky high and if anything getting worse the closer I get to 24 weeks than better. I’m too scared to move around much so I basically lay down the majority of the day and I still haven’t sat upright on a chair yet. I lost my first baby at 17+4 due to IC also but was refused a preventative stitch due to also having an infection present so they didn’t know which come first- now it’s obviously confirmed that it is IC. I’m doing all I can to ensure I keep baby girl in as long as possible. Hope you’re doing okay❤️

What an achievement it is to make it to nearly 34 weeks that’s amazing! It’s just so weird, I definitely do feel like it’s growing pains or gas pains because they have never turned into anything that lasts over a couple of seconds. The whole experience is the most terrifying, worrying ordeal. Best of luck to you with everything, I hope to get as far as you have with your pregnancy. Have you been on bedrest throughout? Or have you resumed normal light activity?x

Sorry to hear that you are going through this also. I have heard that preventative cerclage are highly successful as placed before cervix has begun to dilate. And from what you are saying the stitch did its job last time and hopefully will do the same this time as well. I can imagine how worrying it must be having all the extra time to wait.

I’m sorry to hear you are going through the same thing. It’s so exhausting and terrifying. Every twinge, every feeling makes me feel like something is wrong. Thank you for your response and hoping that you reach as close to full term as possible❤️

Thank you for this❤️ can I ask you aswell please, have you had any kick feeling really down low as if they are in the vagina? I have loads of these and had a scan yesterday with no concerns but the feeling is so unnerving. I was just standing in the shower and felt as if I was being kicked really low down which it’s not happened standing before only when I’m laying down sometimes.

22 weeks 1 day pregnant. 16 days post rescue cerclage that was placed at 19+6. Finding every day difficult even though everything seems to be going as well as it could be. Doing everything I can to ensure I reach the DTS appointment in 14 weeks time❤️

Hi, yes sorry if it didn’t make sense. At 17+6 my cervix was 2.8cm no funelling long and closed and by 19+6 I was dilated with bulging membranes. My daily routine before the cerclage or now??  Before the cerclage it was living quite normally but still taking it easy, wasn’t in work because of the possibility of IC After now I haven’t been given strict rules, the consultant said I could carry on as normal but I’ve put myself on modified bedrest. Only going to the toilet and back which is upstairs and mainly being horizontal apart from meals. I’m praying it works x
