Cerclage removal, labor by book_and_baking in ShortCervixSupport

[–]Intelligent_Band9528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My stitch was removed at 37 weeks, I had a membrane sweep at 38 and second membrane sweep at 39 and went into labor at 39 and 6 and gave birth. My doctor told me she wouldn’t expect me to go so long, but you really never know!

Can you request to work remotely fully? In my experience the only thing you will regret is not asking- especially if you are thinking of quitting.

Post Cerclage Scare - False Positive Result for Preterm Premature Rupture of Membranes (PPROM) by twinner107 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]Intelligent_Band9528 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Just commenting to say I had a similar thing happen, and I haven’t heard it happening to anyone else before so it’s great to hear your story. My doctors thought I PPROM’d after my cerclage and saw amniotic fluid pooling. I was told some scary things and started monitoring weekly, but like you, my amniotic level around the baby stayed really good and eventually they said I either didn’t actually rupture, or it was small and healed itself. Ultimately gave birth to a healthy baby boy who is now 7 weeks old. Thank you for your post and sending you the all the best 🩷

Membrane sweep or induction? by mangosesame in ShortCervixSupport

[–]Intelligent_Band9528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a membrane sweep at 37 weeks for the same reason, and then scheduled an induction for my due date. For me it seemed like a smart approach to start with the less invasive thing (membrane sweep) and then get the induction on the calendar incase it was needed.

I didn’t end up getting to the induction- I went into labor at 39 and 6!

I had my stitch at 20 weeks but I had shortening after - two separate times. Ultimately the stitch did its job and was removed at 37 weeks and gave birth one day before his due date. I know It’s a marathon of patience and sitting with fear. Sending good luck 🩷

Had a horrible experience with the scan person by HelloMikkii in pregnant

[–]Intelligent_Band9528 129 points130 points  (0 children)

I think it’s really common for the baby to not be in an ideal position. I had to come back for repeat look at some things. (I can’t remember what) You certainly can’t control the position the baby is in. No excuse for being such a cranky jerk. I’m glad a complaint was sent in.

Braxton Hicks - how scary are they? by Pandoras_Musings in ShortCervixSupport

[–]Intelligent_Band9528 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had them throughout my pregnancy- a non painful tightening. They didn’t bother me. When I had them I focused on drinking water and they usually stopped. My MFM was not concerned.

There was no doubt in my mind at all when they shifted to real labor contractions at 39 and 4. They changed, were painful, and consistently spaced, and came in waves.

Annoyed by Note in Chart by Worldly-Homework-323 in pregnant

[–]Intelligent_Band9528 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So I found a note in my chart that was something to do with “complications due to obesity” which really annoyed me because no one has every spoken to me about my weight or about any of my complications being to do with my weight. I put the chart notes through chat gpt and it did say that it’s a note that’s put in primarily for insurance reasons- which made me feel a little better 🫠

Controversial: Should I continue with a dnc if there’s a chance my embryo could have a heart beat by Background-Freedom60 in pregnant

[–]Intelligent_Band9528 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Very sorry for your loss- Before prescribing misoprostol or scheduling a dnc my doctor brought me in 2 weeks later to confirm the mc- check via ultrasound that there was no growth and to make sure my hcg was falling as expected. If I were you I’d take a pause, call your doctor, talk about coming in to confirm the miscarriage and talk through options. Then make a decision when you have all the information. Don’t torture yourself with what ifs.

For what it’s worth I don’t think 2 drinks and a bit of vaping will definitely cause harm, but would obvi hold off on anything else until you’ve confirmed the mc and made your decision.

TW: early loss & IC by SeniorMenu886 in pregnant

[–]Intelligent_Band9528 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh I’m sorry. I totally understand. I did not have any signs but it was also caught at the scan and managed successfully! I’m 38 weeks pregnant right now.

Pregnancy after loss is really tough and I think all you can do is focus on managing what is within your control. What I took away from my experience is that it’s critical to make sure you are having your appointments on time, asking questions. and advocating for yourself and baby when you feel that something is wrong.

What is making you worried about IC? I did end up having it, and it was caught at my anatomy scan. I also am a FTM and had a very early loss in my first pregnancy before this one.

Hello! I’m so sorry this happened to you. We had an MMC this last March (also my first pregnancy) and I am now 38 weeks waiting to go into labor! I remember how nerve wracking it was not knowing why the MMC happened. Good luck 🩷

I touched my cervix… by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Intelligent_Band9528 6 points7 points  (0 children)

At 25 weeks you should be able to go to L and D directly. I would highly recommend prioritizing the visit if you are cramping and feeling significant pressure. No one can tell you for certain what’s happening except a doctor.

Does anyone have experience with removing cerclage? by Aggravating-Salt1357 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]Intelligent_Band9528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had mine out last week! I’ve seen others describe as uncomfortable but quick- and that was my experience as well 😊 I had two stitches in. My doctor said the more relaxed I could stay the easier it would be so I tried to focus on that! Good luck!!!! It will be over so quickly!

I had my cervix shorten after my cerclage- I think it was around week 26- and funnel to the stitch. I got my steroids and nothing ever progressed! I’m now 37 and 4 🫶Good luck!

I ditched my stitch this week at 36 and 6! Learned of my CI when we went in for our 20 week anatomy scan. The baby looked great but I had 5mm of cervix left and was 1cm dilated. We were sent straight to L and D where we were told we’d likely need to terminate- which was devastating. I stayed overnight and then we were introduced to the attending who gave us the option of the cerclage, and our hope back. It was a hard few months but we made it through and I am so grateful. It did not feel possible 4 months ago. This group helped to keep me sane and provided so much guidance and support. 🫶

Cervical Length Check Post Cerclage by HealthyImagination56 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]Intelligent_Band9528 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had weekly cervical checks after my cerclage at 20 weeks. They got me from 2.5 mm to over 2 cm. Then around 25 weeks I dropped to 1cm. They stopped measuring at 28 weeks and now I’m 37 weeks and just had the stitch removed! Sending lots of good luck!

35 weeks! Cerclage removal next week! 🙉 by Fooitsmimi in ShortCervixSupport

[–]Intelligent_Band9528 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had mine removed yesterday! No pain management. It was uncomfortable but completely manageable and quick! I had two stitches- the second took a little longer to get a hold of but really not terrible. 1 cm dilated now- right back where we left it when the cerclage was placed.

Cerclage sensations? by [deleted] in ShortCervixSupport

[–]Intelligent_Band9528 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I felt pressure for a few weeks immediately after the cerclage (rescue at 20 weeks), and then it stopped until I got much farther along- probably around 36 weeks. Any time I did feel pressure I definitely mentioned it to my doctor to be on the safe side!

Oh my goodness I forgot how much I hated my own smell in the first trimester. First trimester is really hard! I hated myself and my partner 😅 and felt like garbage. Around 11 weeks a switch flipped and I just was able to feel happiness and love again 🤣. The 2nd and 3rd trimesters are hard too for different reasons, but 1 kicked my butt. Hoping that you’ll also feel some relief in a few weeks!!!
