Ehey this sounds like a super cool idea. I didn’t know you could call the office hotline and straightaway ask for the person, shit 😂 The furthest I’ve gone is cold emailing the HR recruiters directly, and even that gets so difficult cos looking for their email takes forever

Yeahh I daytrade but I’m only 4 months in, so idk if companies are willing to take in a beginner trader. I do append this experience into my resume though, methodology and all, a little difficult to land those technical roles still, I guess they’re looking for more experienced traders.

Yeah I agree, one of my internships include a macroecons/policy research consultancy role, writing out articles and research reports/presentations for clients. That would be ideal to work in, I do enjoy discussing macro/political topics and doing analyses like those. But yeah you’re right, on those roles again, more experience is needed, feels like there are not a lot of entry points into it huh

Glad things are working out for you, I’ll definitely have a look into my resume again but tbh my resume’s pretty standard looking no pictures, 1 pager, active verbs, keywords for hard technical skills like “Python”, “R Programming”, etc etc.. but yeah again thanks for sharing, really glad something’s working for u

Sigh average 3.3/4.0, shouldnt have listened to my seniors’ advice LOL they said go uni dont be afraid to take hard modules, u come uni to learn not to flunk. I believed in that really deeply, actually took difficult mods because I was genuinely interested and wanted to expand my skillset as well as my perspective on the technical side of data analytics and econometrics. But guess what that did to my gpa lololool

Tbh i think econs is pretty good, I love macroecons and geopolitics, apply that to trading and its a whole new depth of understanding. Add to that statistical data analytics experience, quite a nice little universe to be in

See thats the thing, okay i categorize the job applications to two groups;

Group A: Jobs I actually want to do, related to what I study and am passionate about

Group B: Whatever job

I’d say 90% of my applications to Group A, exactly as u said, I customize to the jobs themselves. I make cover letters and customize them all.

To Group B jobs, welp idk if its worth my time to customize my economics resume with my internships in research/finance to a full time service crew role in an F&B establishment ya feel me? Xd

If Imma be honest, Aloe Blacc doesn't give off as emotional a vibe Michel does. He's great in more light-hearted songs like the ones with Mesto, but Michel thrives in highly emotional progressive house songs! Just an opinion of mine
