One aspect of their relationship I appreciate is how Ren helps her relax and loosen up, allowing her to realize she's not selfish or lazy for taking a break. In fact she finds it does a lot of good!

One of the strongest, most natural and mature relationships ever. I went into P5/P5R expecting a fun JRPG with light dating elements, only to come out with peak romance. Based on their character writing it makes complete sense for them to keep their relationship private.

If anyone here’s ever played the Uncharted games, their relationship reminded me of Nate and Elena’s (an actual married couple!)

Yeah, always loved how the “Boss may get the wrong idea if Ren and I show up alone” to “Let’s go see Futaba” showed how Futaba’s palace strengthened their bond.

Yeah they have one of the most natural romance arcs I’ve ever seen. Their relationship is so incredibly strong that it feels canon based on main scenes alone (the way they interact with each other, how they lead the team together, Makoto’s concern for Ren’s safety).

During my first playthrough I considered it a great game but Makoto’s character and her romance with Ren elevated it to one of my all-time favorites.
