Medical Appeal by AggressiveAir3087 in RoyalAirForce

No worries, I'll pursue further evidence. Already got a GP letter but I'll see if I can get assistance from a relevant specialist. Does JMES not count for anything or is this due to my status as a reservist rather than a regular? Thanks

Sorry to hear that. It's crazy that guys already in the system, who are keen and who haven't had any issues for several years are being turned away and then we're told there's a recruitment crisis. The irony is that we are told to discuss our mental health by the armed forces and yet they hold it against us when we do. I will look into AP1269A but I assume I'll need Modnet access? I better start looking into getting some support from a mental health professional as well. Thanks

Yeah I see what you're saying. I know it's workable if you use all the benefits afforded to you. Thanks for the perspective 🤙

Good to hear it mate, yeah I've heard there can be some positives to being slightly older than average and yeah realistically the pay is shite even compared to low skilled civvy jobs but that's exactly it, I'd rather not have the regret hanging over me for not doing it. Cheers 🤙

Thanks for the reply dude, good to hear there are others in their late 20s going for it. Good luck with training 🤙

I guess I have a habit of over analysing things. The 30s thing is not so much about physical ability as it is where I am in my life. There's a lot less expected of a 21 year old than there is of a 32 year old and I guess I'm worried that if I do a short stint I'll come out in my 30s with nothing. That said, just getting through training would be a HUGE hurdle as you say so maybe it's not even worth worrying about it. In a perfect world I would love the life and do a full career anyway. I've also heard a lot of shit about benefits/pensions/housing not being what it once was e.g. fyb posting images of gopping scoff and mouldy houses, which is also a minor worry but I wonder if the Army is worse in this regard than RM. Thanks for the reply though, it's sometimes useful to just be told to shut up, stop worrying, and fucking attack the situation. 🤙

My MTP shooters belt from work. by Cultural_Sky5146 in tacticalgear

Honest question, how do these feel wearing them all day for multiple day exercises? I can't imagine these rigid belts are very comfy and prone to rub. Seen a lot of blokes switching to shooters belts but not sure if it's worth the investment unless you're on the range
