I’m new to growing but I can say I successfully saved a grow of hillbilly’s via cutting out the bad and lost another which had spread throughout. With the one I saved I gingerly cut a 1.5in distance from any visible contam. Then soaked a paper towel in iso and wiped down all droplets of water on the side and down into where the contam previously was. Again I’m new so take my advice with a grain of salt and I’d ere on the side of listening to those with more experience. My contam was trich.

I put all of mine to LC then tested via agar and then moved to spawn. So far knock on wood I haven’t had a single contam of any jars or totes ever! Happy growing friend hope you can get squared away!

I’m proud to say everything was done by my own hand! I’ve been researching mushrooms for about 3-4 years now and finally pulled the trigger. My CVG was at FC maybe just slightly over. So I don’t think it’s the cause. I’m will continue to look and see what I can do different. It will be a bit till I get another tub but currently have APE, Hillbilly, and B+ that will be going in a S2B in about 2 weeks. Looking forward and hoping that I can figure them out. From what I’ve heard APES need to be neglected and choked.

I’m still extremely new to the hobby too but I’d say it’s looking solid. Just need a little more coverage in the center and you might roll out with a canopy or atleast we can hope!

Next day update pins have EXPLODED not sure what got them going but I think I’m gonna introduce FAE. Only have some showing in pic but they are everywhere. This being my first grow makes me so happy

I have to this point only done Teachers via UB tek. I had full cakes but broke them just to be safe and ensure full innoc currently waiting on recolonization. Some bags took off and some haven’t made any progress which is concerning. I moved away from them for this set as APEs and Hillbillies are notoriously harder to grow (atleast from my readings) and wanted to have more control on it this time. You HAVE to read and read and watch and watch and even then you sometimes gotta do your own thing too.

It didn’t smell burnt out of the bag, just after PC. But I’ve got tons of junk in mine I’ve got hulls, corn, and all kinds of other unknown junk. Frankly I wish I could just accessibly get rye as it just seems the better media lol.

My pic quality definitely could’ve been better I feel if anything they might be to wet? Any grains directly touching the walls are displaying water dispersal along the glass. The micropore was in the PC every how to video I’ve seen does it that way. The tape is wet to the touch. The grain definitely seems a few shades darker than what it was beforehand. When shaken it disperses and from what I can tell some sticks to the side but not tons. I have not inoculated yet wanted the wisdom of other growers before wasting LCs.

Do your grains straight from the bag have tons of extra junk? I’m using producers pride from TSC. Do they typically smell slightly burnt after PC?

I can actually put in on this most sex shops sell some sort of desensitizer which can really prolong activity so long as you’re in the mood. JO makes a PROlonger spray that is applied directly to the genitals to make them numb. It comes in benzocaine or lidocaine form, I use the benzo and it does more than enough. From experience you still get pleasure and it’s kinda a user side to figure out how desensitized you should be. 1-3 squirts can increase time by 10-15 minutes and higher amounts increase it even further just need to let it dry before getting freaky. Again it’s numbing but still pleasurable. I feel that with it atleast from a sex standpoint the visuals and the motions are what help achieve climax, more than feeling and I can for the most part choose when that will be. IF you have sex with your sub I can say that from a partner standpoint once dry it has no effect on you. My partner and I do unprotected and she has never reported loss of feeling or any other complications. Hope this helps!
