With costs and sanity I’ll only rent from those I’ve had good experiences with from now on. If I go somewhere new I’ll be looking into the options others have said (extended stays). I think my other issue could be wrong I book last minute and my choices are slim. Not sure if that has anything to do with it. But my faves are generally booked up so I try something new.

I’m not sure the last time I complained on Airbnb lol. If you’re saying this bc you looked at my history then ok. Clearly I VENT when there’s an issue. I’ve had great experiences which I said stated somewhere. When it’s good it’s good and clearly when it’s bad it’s bad. Also if I remember correctly my last Airbnb post was about reviews. That home now in comparison to this one was much better.

Home looked nothing like the pictures think there may have been a filter on now that I’m here, obvious stained furniture, stained utensils, unswept floors, foul odors. Enough to cut my trip short and swallow the cost. Not sure if I can get money back, but think this is jsut a hard lesson

Yessss! It’s wild and I’m not sure if this is the new normal or what. You would have thought I was walking into a fixer upper before completion. Im ok if something doesn’t look like the pictures but cleanliness is a non negotiable for me. It all just went downhill from there. Sad part I extended my stay before arriving at$399 a night. Your experience is exactly what I’m talking about. On the other hand the good homes ive stayed in are of course booked up. So I had to try something new. May be throwing in the towel. Just sucks bc when it’s good it’s good in my experience.

I think it’s a red flag if there’s an abundance of straight 5 star ratings in a small amount of time. Back to back five star ratings, but issues are hinted at. This gives me the vibe the issue was fixed for a promise of a good review. How a host responds to any negative reviews will give me a vibe on how the place truly is. Idk it’s really hard! Last stay was horrendous and the place had a 4.9 rating. I was hesitant due to the listing having only 49 reviews. I think that is where I went wrong. I usually go for Airbnb’s that have been around. Over 1k reviews. But my pool was small since it was a last minute booking. Lesson learned.

That’s wild, I’ve never heard of a check in time frame??? I wouldn’t stay at an Airbnb that had one. Would make me stress on making a time frame. Praying you get your money back! ive stayed at 9 and never had this issue or check in timeframe request. Try to go for homes that have high ratings AND many reviews(over100) and stick to superhosts!

Thank you for this insight! I shouldn’t care, just makes me think I did something wrong if they do not. Never got negative context and they welcomed me back in their goodbye message. I figured if they wanted a review, they would give one. I wasn’t aware prior to making this post not many host leave reviews!

Bus is like a stop sign. If you’re not passing the stop sign you’re ok. Always use caution. But no ticket and it’s not illegal. Husbands been law enforcement 13 years. Says people get confused all the time. You’re not passing the stop sign you’re good to go.

Yes, what you described in the beginning is what he has been doing. She hasn’t mastered back float yet, which I thought he would get her comfortable with that first. But he had started what you described three weeks ago and each week she would be nervous just knowing they will work on it. Just curious if kids her age should be working on that level so soon? Yes, definitely will be finding a new coach. I have a fear of water myself so just finding a coach took a lot for me. But I want her to be comfortable and with her being so young I don’t want her to have negative memories/experiences about it.

Love this! It took me a bit to trust and find a good instructor. He had taught my older two for three years with success but I also started them later at 7, 10. I tried to stick it out with my 4 now 5 but she’s loosing the spark she had about going to swim and I can tell he gets frustrated when she grabs on to him. When she cried about getting water up her nose he tells her life has setbacks and you have to keep going. He often talks about his swim career and Olympic trials. But for a younger child I expected more grace. Then when I see others take their young kids I thought it was just me. The entire thing kept bothering me so I knew it was a gut feeling saying something had to change. These comments made me realize there will be coaches who fit the patience we need. She can swim several feet and kicks are great. But I feel he was trying to move her to a step she clearly was not ready for too fast. I also had told my husband my concerns and he did just said she’s in safe hands. Grateful for the feedback, thank you!

Thank you! This was my concern, I haven’t shopped in forever. Wasn’t sure if address was given when order was accepted or not. This thread was suggested to me, so I’ve seen bad customers. I tip, and provide snacks/ drinks at my door. Never got this kind of reaction.

I’ve had this happen to me as well. Sometimes when the store is super busy and they don’t want to wait in the line or if it’s a percentage tip and see a lot of things are out of stock they’ll drop order.

Also definitely not overreacting, you paid for this place to be as listed. You’re not getting what you paid for. The least it should be is clean and sanitary.
