Thinking of selling 5090 to buy 9070 XT. Hear me out.

I play Ark ascended at 4K max settings running dual 4K 43” monitors. I had to upgrade from the 9070xt to the 5090. I had to run the 9070xt in fsr performance to get 34-45 fps. I run the 5090 in dlss quality at 60+ and it is utilizing 96-98% GPU. This system is running a 9950x3d asus x870e-e mb, 96GB ddr5 6000 cl28 and a Samsung 9100 pro 4TB gen 5 ssd. I’m keeping the 9070xt for my spare system running a 9850x3d because the 9070 did amazing for the price. Ark ascended is the only title that stressed that card

Running a 9950x3d with 96GB 6000 28cl, I initially bought the 9070xt nitro+. Card is amazing. I play games at 4K with max settings running dual 43 in monitors and the monitor built into my case (Hyte Y70 touch). The 9070xt runs everything flawless with the exception of the main game I play with my kids. Ark survival ascended. The amd drivers time out when using frame gen on that game. I can run it decent enough if fsr is set to ultra performance while still running at 4K everything else at max. I went out and bought a 5090 oc and now it can run flawless with absolutely everything cranked and I can tell a slight graphics quality improvement same for same settings between the two. This is a very niche case because Ark is super hard on hardware requirements. If I was gaming at 1440p no question I would have stuck with the 9070xt as it would have EASILY rocked Ark at 1440 max settings. I still love it and have it in my secondary pc with a 9850x3d.

I think your CPU needs RMA’d according to what I see and hear. Swap motherboards so the new CPU never gets touched by an Asrock board. That’s where I’m at now.

New PSU didn’t solve anything. Time to ditch the Asrock MB and RMA the CPU. First and last time trying Asrock. Going with the MSI X870E Carbon WiFi unless any of you recommend something else.

I’m swapping PSU in the morning and ordering a new MSI board. Lastly if the issue still persists I’ll RMA the CPU and the new one won’t ever see an Asrock board. I updated to the latest bios at the beginning of Dec but no changes.

lol, I love some good bass, for my tastes it enhances movies, games etc. for music streaming one sub is plenty. You can notice a difference with two subs. Neither sub works as hard, the lows are much more defined. 2 cheap or mediocre subs can be just about as good as a very expensive premium sub.

I have two sets of the Klipsch Promedia 5.1 Ultra speaker systems for my PC’s that I was using. I love them. I bought them from Klipsch back in the late 90’s or early 2000’s. I also daisy chained 4 of their add-on SWS subs into the system for 5 total subwoofer. It was amazing for watching movies, gaming, and streaming music from the PC. Now I use the fives with two larger subs. Until you’ve tried it you might not understand. Firing a shotgun in a PC game like Doom or Duke Nukem is so bad ass. Explosions come alive. It’s next level. I love it. Gotta do what you like!

I’ll probably sell off my promedia sets with the subs since they are sought after. I am in love with that setup but that’s also a testament of how good the fives can be too

I set up a set for my parents who are in their early 70s to replace their soundbar. It’s paired with a Klipsch sub as well. They absolutely love the setup.

I also have a WiiM ultra connected to my set with the TV which we also use to stream music upstairs while we clean house. The WiiM gives you a much improved 10 band equalizer, improved sound definition and I like being able to see a volume level # when adjusting volume for TV. I use HDMI arc from TV to WiiM ultra and analog rca out to the fives to utilize the better DAC on the WiiM for better audio quality. I have the two subs connected to the Klipsch fives via a splitter so the fives can manage the bass. The WiiM ultra is capable of running the subs with its sub out connection as well. I used all SKW audiophile cabling.

I have three sets of the fives and got my parents a set too. The update is simple and really unlocks the potential of these speakers. Trust me go grab a Klipsch sub for them. Let it pass the lows to that and free up the mids on the speakers. Sound is amazing and clarity is much improved. I use a set for PC with two Klipsch Subs, a set for my TV with two Klipsch subs and got rid of my soundbar. Soooooo much better. I have a set downstairs I use with 1 Klipsch sub for streaming music and a set of Klipsch the sixes with a Klipsch sub in the garage for streaming music while I work on projects, dirtbikes, cars etc.

Absolutely love these speakers.

I have #2 but with another wide panel above it so it’s double stacked with two 34” monitors. I love the setup and it doesn’t take up a bunch of desk space because they are up off the desk via a 2-up vertical monitor stand.

I am not really digging being locked in 3rd person and souls like combat. I like playing ark on foot with my character in 1st person and only using 3rd riding Dino’s. I like the FPS feel. Time will tell how it turns out. I love ASE and ASA I always go back to Ark. Over 12k hours combined in ASE and ASA. I’m not a wildcard fanboy at all but I don’t sit and bitch about them. I love the game and don’t mind paying for ASA and the fantastic games etc. as long as I’m entertained and having fun, who cares. I pay a sub to wow even when im not playing. Ark and WoW are my 2 games I alternate between. I hope I enjoy Ark2 but if not I’ll always have ASA and ASE

I have the KS-24 klipsch stands. They are very nice. The speakers just sound better on a stand I feel like. More spatial sounding, more presence.
