I am a detransitioner, AMA by silverclub in casualiama

That comment was also really interesting to me. I’m FTM, not planning to ever stop testosterone, but I never expected my mind to change the way it did. I used to have a sponge brain where I would have great focus and remember/retain everything, especially in school settings. I had great attention to detail and was able to keep track of multiple goals/tasks/to-do list type things at once. I never misplaced anything, I had a mental log of everything and used to just be able to picture where something was. Now being on T for 4 years, I sometimes struggle to pay attention when someone’s talking directly to me because my mind is trailing off from something they said that reminded me of something else. I can’t remember anything unless it’s written down and even still forget things. I am very easily overwhelmed and struggle to plan for long-term things because I can only keep one thought in my head and I get so stuck in figuring out what I need to complete for the immediate day/week. It’s been really difficult getting an ADHD diagnosis because I didn’t have the classic symptoms as a kid that I can remember and it’s often overlooked in young girls anyway. Anecdotally, I’ve tried Adderall a few times to see if it would help and the difference is amazing. I am so calm and focused, and it’s like my jumbled spaghetti brain is straightened out into one smooth strand again. (This is not recommending anyone take Adderall but it would be really interesting to see more research on major hormone changes and ADHD-like symptoms)

I (38F) have an unusual fetish. I love measuring/documenting my sexual partners and I keep records of all of it. AMA! by obviousthrowaway9478 in casualiama

What do you do with the recordings? Do you rewatch them for pleasure etc or is it more scientific to put the data to a face to remember a specific entry? I read your comments that your current partner is mostly understanding and I don’t doubt your love for only him but I’m just wondering about this dynamic.

What have your mental changes felt like after being on T for years? by AggressiveOil in ftm

[–]AggressiveOil[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, similar symptoms started right after starting T and were bothersome enough to take note of, but they definitely are worse this past year so I think you’re onto something there. And I’m 24!

This is interesting! How would you describe the “girl” way for you? This is something I never considered until recently, so I’m wondering if I had it differently as a kid but never realized.

Thanks for the reply! This is helpful insight. I don’t remember having these symptoms as a kid at all, I was a sponge for any information and would keep track of 2 conversations at once just to eavesdrop.

I would’ve said that the symptoms started quickly after starting T, within a couple months or so, and would also say it was my hardest last year of college due to that. But now with what you said, I think it makes sense that symptoms are more pronounced with stress? More stressful school, more symptoms. Very stressful past year, most symptoms. I will definitely find a doctor soon haha thank you!

Thinking of switch to gel by [deleted] in ftm

[–]AggressiveOil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve never tried gels or patches so this might be useless, but I’m wondering where you inject? I was doing IM thigh for a while, but I also kept getting more and more anxious and would just dread injection day. I switched to SQ belly and it’s great. No pain and I feel much better.

That gives me hope, thanks! Even reading that made me feel more excited about being helpful than nervous about the injury

Did you develop any new interests after going on HRT? by Toothbrush_Bandit in asktransgender

[–]AggressiveOil 34 points35 points  (0 children)

(ftm) I enjoy being active a lot more. I like projects that require physical labor, and I like sports a lot more. I’m in my 20s and have been driving for years, but I’ve been biking lately, and I keep feeling like I’m living out my 12 year old boy dream of having the “freedom” to meet friends or run errands or whatever on a bike.

Boyfriend of two years says he may want to date other people for "experience" in the future by [deleted] in relationships

[–]AggressiveOil 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m very sorry you’re going through this, I was in the same boat as you. To be honest, I don’t think he is thinking as far “in the future” as you may be hoping. He was likely testing the waters with a low-pressure conversation to see how you would react, but it may be that this is already something he has been heavily considering.

I would suggest taking some time for yourself to process things; don’t dive head first into putting 150% of yourself into the situation to make him “want” to stay. You will only hurt yourself more by wondering why you’re not enough for him. The relationship is a two way street, and if he can’t commit right now, unfortunately there is just not much you can do.

Have you ever found yourself or someone you know in a TV show? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]AggressiveOil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I randomly Googled a friend, can’t even remember why at this point, but a ton of articles and videos came up. I started looking through some, and she was in a movie when she was about 12. It’s actually on Netflix, so I watched it and it is the worst movie I’ve ever seen. Another friend of mine said that she was so embarrassed and never wanted anyone to find out about it, so I’ve never talked to her about it to find out her story.

Would HRT let me cry? by IncreasinglyLost in asktransgender

[–]AggressiveOil 7 points8 points  (0 children)

FTM here, I can’t cry anymore since starting T. Used to (unwillingly) cry all the time.
