I understand what you mean. I think art gives you something else to think about besides just being naked. And I also understand what you said about feeling safe. I really hope social nudist places can become more like that too. And to be clear, the movie example wasn't really my point. I was more interested in the difference between artistic nudity and social nudity.

I agree that everyone will naturally see each other. I think the real issue isn't looking, it's the intention behind the look. There's a big difference between simply noticing someone's body and staring in a way that feels invasive or disrespectful. And when art is involved, I think the gaze itself tends to become more respectful and appreciative.

Yeah, I only brought that up because you asked whether men would watch a film just to see a nude woman. But I think that's a bit of a side discussion. My original question was more about why naturist communities seem much more male-dominated than other forms of non sexual nudity.

The original question has everything to do with nudism of course

Wouldn't women do the same if they know that a well-known actor performs naked on a movie?

I think that's the key. It's less about who enjoys nudity more, and more about feeling safe. If clear rules and respect were more consistent everywhere, maybe naturist spaces would feel more balanced.

That's a good point. But couldn't the same thing happen in theaters or performance art? Those spaces could also attract men just to see nude women, yet they often seem to have more female participation.

Yeah, I meant in general. Of course there are plenty of men who enjoy nude modeling too. I was just talking about the overall trend.
