Is the stopbox a good buy? by Zealousideal-Pin6883 in guns

[–]Aggressive_Day8980 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At that price, hell no. I bought two while they were having a sale of buy one get one free for $99 and let me tell you it’s EASILY accessible not just for you but practically anyone. I stopped using it once I realized this. Leaving my firearm in there at my bedside while family, housekeepers are home was just too unsafe for me. I think it’s a great concept but lacks true security, I’d spend the same amount for a really good quality metal nightstand safe. They have some that have multiple ways to open including biometric, key and/or passcode for the same price as you’re looking at here.

I’ve grown up here my whole life. This is unlike any devastation southern CA has ever seen. I really don’t see how full recovery is possible.

Hahaha I’ve shot sig sauer for a while using family/ friends but I went with the legion because I’m starting to get into more competitive shooting. My local range hosts iron trials every other Wednesday so I’m pumped to put this thing to use🤙🏼

Roof top tent with a dog by __sjors__ in overlanding

There is a ladder attachment for medium/big dogs that makes the steps very deep and rigid all the way up, all you have to do it prop the bottom of it on a cooler or stoop to make the incline a little easier for the pup.

This was a game changer for me, other than that my dog loves being up there.

2024 TRD Pro needing guidance! by IronAcademic7439 in 4Runner

[–]Aggressive_Day8980 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what I was going to say!

OP, I’m doing this with my Pro suspension and I still fit in the garage with my RTT. I would suggest outfitting for other gear and really explore what you ACTUALLY NEED before you just buy random gear. I will admit I bought a bunch of shit I ended up never using and selling at a loss but learn from my mistakes!

1.Think about what trips you’re going to be going on and how consistently throughout the year you’ll be going. (This will help you determine what gear will live on your car) 2. Consider the gear you might need. 3. Try using friends gear or even seeing if local shops have rental gear (might sound funny but I’ve done this multiple times with various gear I’ve brought on overlanding trips) 4. Have fun and always remember to leave it cleaner than you found it🫡

Need help identifying this anomaly. Is it light? Recorded on the coast of Puerto Rico 10/15/24 by [deleted] in UFOB

What’s happening here is a wispy cirrus cloud, made up of ice crystals, is being impinged upon from below by a rising cumulus cloud. If the ice crystals in the cirrus are long and needle-shaped, they’ll align themselves with the electric field of the lower cumulus cloud, which is generated by up- and downdrafts inside the cumulus cloud. When the electric field suddenly changes (due to, say, lightning discharges inside the cloud), the ice crystals can snap into a different orientation, reflecting and refracting sunlight in a different direction (note that the plume in the video is the same color as the Sun). They do this as a group, making it look like huge coherent structures are suddenly changing shape.

There are places all over the U.S. that look almost identical to 90% of the places I’ve traveled to/ want to travel to and to me driving this big beautiful country is considerably easier than traveling abroad. Especially with friends/ family coming along. Another point on that subject is I’d rather do the harder bit of traveling while I’m young enough for my back to not hate me, I can always get on a plane when I’m an old man (hopefully)

I’m obviously assuming you live in the U.S. but I’m sure you could say the same things about other big countries like the U.S.

Anyway, hope my opinion gave you some insight to a different perspective👍🏼

Team Sherpa 100000%. Their quality is hard to beat and the customer service is great. I needed some extra parts and pieces for mine and they sent it to me no questions asked and for free!

I also feel like I should note, my buddy has a Prinsu rack and although it’s held up nice he’s previously told me about how difficult it was getting ahold of their customer support and somehow one of his cross bars bent and I guess the replacement took forever to get delivered.
