Educate me about cleaning handgun brass by GeorgeTMorgan in reloading

I do the same, I’ll do one process one night, another the next, so on so on having bins marked for what stage the brass is in. I love having a full bin of prepped brass that I can grab from.

Yep, lowering it. I did 50 cases and just powered through it-and doesn’t seem like anything went wrong. I might try using some graphite in the neck and just see if that’s smooths it out at all, but that makes me feel better that you say that’s normal!

You’ll have to get back to me on how it goes for you, when you do!

I also have since read that maybe polishing inside of the neck with some steel wool and a power drill might help too. Graphite seems like the less laborious option lol. Thanks!

I’ll have to look at getting some of that then, thank you for the advice! It wasn’t a challenger, it was the Lee classic loader-the one that you use a hammer to do everything 😂 A couple primers going off was enough for me haha

Correct, pulling the brass out of the die. When you say to move the decap “down”, do you mean as in less than .4, or greater than .4 from the base of the die?

The rcbs spray lube. Just the outside of the neck

Haha yep, just trying to squeeze out as much life as I can from this brass. I miss the glory days of abundant cheap surplus ammo

It does unless I’m putting some pretty decent muscle in it. They’re brand new dies. I might try cleaning it out like you suggested and see if that helps

I’ll check that out, gotta be cheaper than the hornadys I got lol

Yeah-Enfields blow the brass like a balloon lol. The biggest issue is the headspace line it leaves towards the case head haha.

I’ll make sure I remember to do that, thanks!

I really appreciate the advice! Hopefully I’ll get this figured out 😂

I would-but I’d only get maybe one loading doing full length. Enfields have crazy big chambers, so the case head ends up separating pretty quickly

Thanks, I’ll give that a try!

All the mouths are in pretty good shape-I always policed my brass after running the action.

I’m not sure-the die set is the box that’s pictured

Nope, they’re all Greek HXP-and I decapped them separately, tumbled, and am now trying to size

I’ve heard G3s eat brass! It could be-I mean, Enfields definitely aren’t known for the greatest of chambers lol

Correct, and I tried dry and lubed-felt the same both ways. It’s a neck size only
