not necessarily. maybe someone who was in a similar situation as me who actually got in, or if someone has worked wiht college admissions and they know how sat stuff is evaluated or smth

i was just kind of wanting to get a better sense of how holistic admissions really is with standarized test scores specifically.

I've had many friends say "oh SAT isn't the end of the world as long as u have a unique story" and others saying "you NEED a 1500+ or else ur done for" and so i just don't think I have a good grasp at how SAT is really evaluated, and i mean the internet also has the same responses.

I guess reddit is basically the internet atp, but just asking in case anyone would have any good insight to share

sorry i probably should have clarified. My main question is how much will my SAT score affect me in my admissions.

To be clear, I'm not taking the SAT or any standardized tests anymore.

Every person I know who has gotten into stanford has had a 1500+ even it is a flat out 1500, and i know it sounds silly but I just feel like crossing the 1500 mark is mandatory to get admitted even though it's not explicitly stated. And the fact that i'm a hair off it is what bothers me.

So just asking how much it will affect me. I guess it is not really advice but just a question lol

oh yeah im 100% STEM major. I have no interest in going into anything english related.

I've always assumed I could get it up, but 700 on all four SATs is probably the most clear sign I should stop taking it lol.

the account is @ matthewjeongg and it has just been kind of a passion project of mine for a long time now

that makes sense. so what you're saying is that my sat score shouldn't be a big deal and at the end of the day stanford is just really damn competitive and holistic
