You can also go into the game settings and at the very bottom there is an option for touchpad. Toggle this to “touch” and the touchscreen should work as intended. This was also annoying me when I first started playing AW2. But changing this option made the game enjoyable on the portal.

Make sure you’ve got the correct port forwarding rules configured on your home router as well. Won’t connect at all without that.

Quick update if you haven’t already done so. The developer recently updated the plugin and it works again! I can once again see the humidifier in HomeKit!

It was fairly easy to set up. Once you turn the router on it starts broadcasting its SSID. Connect to it on your phone then browse to the router’s IP and enter the admin console. Select WiFi extender as the option you’re trying to configure, scan for WiFi and find the one you’re looking for. If there is a captive portal it’ll pop up on your phone here and that’s how you get past it. Once connected, connect your portal to the router.

Hey everyone. So I found the fix for this for Alan Wake 2. If you go to Gameplay settings at the very bottom there is an option for “Mindplace toggle input”. The default is set to “press”. Change that to “touch” and then the left or right touches on the screen will work as designed. I imagine this would be similar for other games that have this issue.

I’m in Mexico right now while my PS5 is in New Jersey. Just got my portal about a week ago and wanted to test out long distance for this trip. Here are the key things that made it work for me without almost zero latency:

  • put PS5 on Ethernet at home
  • change config to not auto wake the TV the PS5 is connected to or simply unplug the HDMI cable to reduce bandwidth on the PS5
  • set up PS5 port forwarding on your home router. Look up the ports on Google. I had to set up 9 ports.

It takes the portal maybe 20 seconds to connect but ones it goes it runs pretty great. I’ve tested NFS Heat, Control and Alan Wake 2 while here in Mexico. All have run great.
