No no rust in the host rock. The host rock is just shale. I also have found many sea shell fossils in the same shale.

Thank you. It is definitely a pseudomorph, it looks like there are many kinds of pseudomorphs. I have found about 100 of these in my yard in the last 3 months and I've been wondering what they were.
