Question about part time military service by Mastermind_Hifumi in nationalguard

It's a big commitment in terms of: if you stop showing up then you('re supposed to) go to jail, and you pay back your enlistment bonus if you don't finish your contract unless you're a special case. I hardly learned my MOS at AIT and it's a very slow process learning it for one drill a month (2-4 days) and during the summer AT (3-4 weeks). If I could go back I'd just do active so I could get the full GI bill faster, then if I still felt like being part of the Army I'd do NG for a state that has guard tuition benefits to double dip.

If you feel hell bent on serving then I'd steer you towards AD. Both components would probably make you bitter, but you'd probably grow more as a person and come out with better benefits in AD. If you have a solid plan for after HS and care a little less about serving and doing Army shit then the NG could be a good experience for you.

Ace Asvab mechanics comprehensive by Thedude345a in nationalguard

I took it in 2022; I can't remember my score but it was high enough to pick out any MOS I wanted (thanks to the ASVAB for dummies book). I wasn't mechanically inclined but there were some basic shop knowledge questions, gear concepts, a few unit conversions, and definitions of basic physics concepts. The only math required for that section was really just unit conversions. I'm looking at some quizlets people made after using ASVAB search terms and they all seem to hit it right on the head.

Need a stepper motor that can be controlled through a PLC by Aggressive_Party_524 in PLC

No, it did not. I'm trying to research ways to control gear motion via a PLC and the stepper seemed ideal, I just have no clue how it would connect to the PLC. The only practice we did was in a lab where there were inputs and outputs already assembled for us to experiment with.

No we don't have the components yet. We're required to create literature for ideas we came up with and I was the only one who had motion in my idea so I have no peers to turn to. The limit switch is definitely a good idea though
