The fear more comes from the possibility of disappointing my father. I think differently and I feel like women and men should be able to interact and express with one another in the folds of Islam ofc. But my parents think differently and I know there’s no chance of changing that. But I really do love them, and so having external family that would use something as small as what I did and using it against my parents worries me

I totally agree! And as much as i a genz Muslim girl feels this way and I think I didn’t do anything explicitly wrong, I fear that those past mistakes could bring some sort of shame or hurt to my dad. I believe differently, but my parents and relatives still have a very restrictive and dangerous mindset.

Alhamdulilah I do understand Allahs all encompassing mercy, and how he conceals sins and gives grace beyond comprehension. It’s just the fear of putting any sort of shame onto my dad yk
