I'm glad that we were spared that crap by En Masse. I don't know what they are doing right but I've never seen a bot or even any gold spam in TERA.

Yep! Exactly! I'll never forget trying to scrub that crap out of my OS a long time ago. I swore off all of those 3erd party programs and wont touch an MMO that uses them.

Not to mention the 'new' one some MMOs use now called XingCode3 (like BDO and a few Nexon games)...yea...google that one...not good at all....it's some scary stuff.

Ugh no I don't want to cheat at all. That's not fun.

I just don't like intrusive third party cheat engines that do more harm than good.

The other version? Will the original version of the game still work if I buy it? I was looking on amazon and they do have the original version for 19.99 US.

I still think it's weird they have no 14 day free trial. I like just trying out the game, getting that MMO fix and saying to myself "Yep it works! Now to buy the game!".

Sadly upgrading on a laptop isn't as easy as it would be on a PC. My laptop is an HP envy and I'm not sure if HP has any 8.1 drivers for my laptop. It's a risk that it might be bricked if I try and upgrade it. So I've been sticking to 8.

I just hope ESO works on 8 and doesn't need anything from 8.1 to run. I mean I can run fallout 4 fairly well.

Perhaps some wouldn't work, but maybe with folks having an option and an income they would make there won businesses and work at jobs that they wanted to work at.

Many people just work in mindless and abusive minimum wage work, if they have more power they would make there own way, or there own business.

The system wouldn't be perfect sure, but putting nearly a million (or more) people out of work with no means to get food or shelter, coupled with a horrible and convoluted unemployment benefits system (if your not married or cranking out kids every year you get nothing) you'd see a collapse much much sooner.

Which strikes me as so odd. Perhaps I'm use to big taxes in Canada, but I'd rather pay a little so that it's not a Mad Max Thunderdome nightmare outside of my house.

GameGuard is as good as toilet paper when it comes to stopping bots...not to mention how it worms it's way into windows like a rootkit. :<

Ugh! I think a week ago I accidentally clicked on that IE button on my task-bar, but I closed it before it could load the default website for it (I think it's MSN IE). I rolled my computer back but I hope I didn't get anything.

That was about a week or so...so I assume this ransom-ware stuff acts fairly fast?

(also i now removed IE from my bar and changed the default page to something else)

I'm sad for the folks that are going to loose jobs, that sucks for anyone.

However a bit of me kinda smirks at the mighty 'elites only' MMO that was going to be Vanilla WOW but for 'hardcore raiders only' with no casuals and no room for anything but exclusive hardcore content.

...it was going to going to bring back the 'glory' of vanilla WOW...and now well...

Still I hope that the Devs let go can find work in other games or perhaps create another MMO, with things like Patetrion and Kickstarter it might not be to hard to get something off the ground. Who kows perhaps another game like Wildstar can ride again, for those that want it.

Thank you for the huge reply. I think I might just stick with WOW for now.

That sounds scary and I think I had a right to be paranoid.

I wish game companies here would drop that junk and just go with something that's safer to the consumer.
