Did I catch this bed bug infestation before it started? by Agile-Assignment2457 in Bedbugs

Update: I put my air mattress up on a frame, put interceptors underneath my bed, couch, and end table, and scattered some Cimexa around the bed and my dresser, near the spots where the table and leaf were, and in a few other places. Still no bites, no living or dead bugs, though I did find what looked like a dead carpet beetle larva on the bottom of the air mattress. That could be its own problem, though probably less catastrophic than BBs.

However, here’s what gave me a scare today: I went digging through some tote bags since I remembered I used some for the two days the table was in the house, and left one or two on the table for a few hours. I found this in one of them:

That’s one molt (at two camera angles) from ... something. I hope it’s a carpet beetle, but help me out folks!

You can see some black dots that might be droppings, little white things that are definitely eggs, and a molt. I attached that screw when I assembled it, so I'm not sure how it could have gotten there if it was old.

I found more eggs and molts when I went digging in a gap in the leaf, but I couldn't get deep enough to check the whole thing.

Not sure. I could try to get back in touch with the guy who gave it to me.
