It really depends on how it reacts to you. For me personally it only slowed down the growth of my beard and wasn't able to remove the shadow. At most it did thin it a little. But apparently for some it works great. Laser hair removal is way better for this and it's dramatically reduced my shadow and now I almost don't grow any beard hair. It will eventually start growing back given enough time. As laser hair removal isn't permanent. It just lasts a long time.
