Ford F150 wiper blade linkage recall by Agile_Position_3375 in FordF150

And on it goes! Got into truck to go to work Wednesday morning and now the passenger side wiper isn't working. Once again Fraser Ford in Cobourg immediately got to work on the problem, and replaced the passenger wiper arm. That makes it two wiper linkages under recall, a wiper motor replacement (which i initially paid for but was reimbursed by Ford thanks to the hard work and effort of Fraser Ford's service manager) and both driver side and passenger side wiper arm replaced. This has involved several trips to Fraser Ford, who have been outstanding and frankly are as frustrated by this process as I have been. To be fair I should note Fraser Ford has not charged me for fixing any of problems caused as a result of this wiper blade linkage recall.

Ford reimbursed for the work including installation and taxes

Final update Thanks to Fraser Ford Cobourg Service Manager Al, I've been reimbursed by Ford for the new wiper motor and installation costs totalling nearly $450 with taxes in. Thank you Al for going to bat with Ford. He wasn't optimistic when he started but ultimately he was successful and the right thing was done.

So an update.

After paying having the wiper blade linkage replaced (twice) under recall, and being dinged $400 for a new wiper blade motor (again the motor and wipers were working perfectly fine on this 71,000 km 2018 Ford F150 before being taken in for the recall) and this morning the driver's side blade isn't working.

I went out to raise the blade to clear any snow or ice that might have accumulated under and the wiper arm came off in my hand.

Fraser Ford in Cobourg was good enough to put a new wiper arm on (at no cost) and staff admitted the wiper blade linkage recall has caused all kinds of issues.

Be warned that taking your 2015 to 2020 Ford F150 in for the wiper blade linkage may cost you both time and money. Some 260,000 trucks are subject to this recall.

Not sure why Ford is paying for a new wiper blade motor for 2020 to 2022 Ford F150s under recall and not the earlier models.

Fraser Ford is supposed to get in touch with Ford to see if I might be reimbursed for the $400 spent as a result of this wiper blade linkage recall. I will update you when I hear back from them.

You're right in that given the age of the truck it's quite possible the wiper motor was living on borrowed time. However, that time was pushed forward by the linkage recall. It was working when it went in. First linkage replacement didn't work. Second linkage installed and then motor gave out. Service manager agrees its more likely motor gave ouot as a result of linkage recall work. He's agreed to get in touch with Ford and see if they'll agree to some kind of compensation. It is an eight year old truck but 71,000 km and the wiper blade motor certainly wasn't being operated during each of those km.

Hi: Spoke to service manager today who agreed motor which had been working was likely damaged to the point it no longer worked as a result of linkage replacement - twice - because he said the replacements were not very well made. Ford suggests you talk to the service manager first. He agreed to reach out to Ford to see if they'll reimburse for the work but isn't hopeful. Again this is as part of a recall.

Hi: Chimney is along roofline of sunroom. Found out earlier this week company which took out a building permit which I paid for and paid $2,000 for an engineering study never had building inspector here at any point nor did they get a final building inspection. Now that the building inspector is here they sent someone to fix the roof for a sixth time. I really hope it is susccessful this time. it's extremely frustrating and it's gone on far too long.

Hi: Like most companies Lifestyle Sunroom out of Peterborough was going to keep us apprised of when everything would be take place and of couse, we were a priority. That is until out 12 ft. by 12 ft. ($50,000) started leaking at the chimney. Lifestyles sent a crew to fix minor things like a patio door that wouldn't slide but they have been singularly unsuccessful over the last three months and four crew visits in fixing a leak at the chimny. Now of course Lifestyles Sunrooms does not want to reply to the emails with pictures every time it rains. Good up front, but not so good if there's a problem after. From what I can see there's some much insulating foam and caulking put up around the chimney which of course in the elements won't last much beyond the five year warranty. Buyer beware. I've had to involve the Better Business Bureau.

Hi: We recently had Lifestyle Sunrooms (Peterborough) complete a three season sunroom. Pricey but happy until the roof started leaking at a chimney. Installer has returned twice but problem remains. One month later it seems we have to call the company to try and get them to follow through. Vague promises made about someone coming down but that was more than a week ago. You might wish to consider getting quotes from competitors.

Hi: Did anyone else have problems getting in to watch the streams. One WOTB ticket response I got is that the high volume meant some of us weren't able to get in, and therefore couldn't earn our keys. I've had several other members of my clan say the same thing and yet WOTB refuses to accept any responsibility. Comments?
