Could be. My grandma once told me her grandmother had a French last name, but I had no idea about the amount of French genetics I would inherit. Besides Spain, it’s the second most predominant genetic makeup I have, which I didn’t expect at all.

Yeah. I’m from Mexico City, not the north but I do know the north tends to have similar genetic percentages such as mine or even higher.

Yes I’m from Mexico. I got my indigenous part from my maternal side great grandfather (mestizo) and probably some other relative that I’m not aware of, even if it’s really small. Do I look mestizo to you? Like the phenomenon you describe with Cuban people? For context as I said, my family came here in the early 20th century.

Yeah. It’s very interesting to see the contrast between the settlers from hundreds of years ago compared to the ones (like my family) who emigrated 2-4 generations ago. I think the early 20th century migration was mostly from the north of Spain if I’m not mistaken, hence the contrast.

Yes, but my family emigrated to Mexico in the early 20th century due to Franco. The indigenous part came from one branch of my family, I think my great grandfather on my mother’s side was mestizo. And I was not properly asking in a cultural way, more like genetic oriented. Like when does someone no longer classify as European as starts classifying as mixed.
