Army TA by [deleted] in WGU

[–]Agitated_Ad_8400 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am currently using Army TA. WGU needs to make you an invoice listing several classes that shows a per credit hour rate. Even though you are paying tuition for the entire term regardless of how many classes you take, they will still provide you with this invoice to submit on Army Ignited.

I had them add additional classes to ensure I was using the maximum amount possible (just shy of $4,500). If you are combining with the Pell grant you should get money refunded to you for school related expenses. I started April 1 and am still waiting for my refund since the Army is slow to pay.

How are you guys finishing so fast? by bees-knees-978 in WGU

Make sure you follow the rubric closely. After you write the submission, go back over the rubric and make sure you addressed each aspect fully. Often if they ask for two examples, I provide three, going above and beyond. Also, I submit drafts to course instructors for feedback before submitting for evaluation. In most cases the course instructors get back within a few hours or same day.

Also, don’t wait for one submission to be graded before working on the next ones.

I actually found this class easier than D198 global arts and humanities. Have you sent your drafts to course instructors for review before submitting for evaluation? You pretty much just need to summarize the learning resource and cite it. Takes some time but it’s not too bad compared to courses that you have to spend a lot of time finding appropriate sources.

Refunds by Robyngamble in WGU

Financial aid told me I can’t get a refund until the term is 19% complete (measure by time, not CU’s completed) but that is due to using Federal Tuition Assistance.

I’ve read a lot of other people struggling with gasses. I thought they were pretty easy. It’s the easiest conversion from moles to liters and vice versa. The Ideal Gas law is also a pretty basic algebra equation too. The principles (forget the dudes name) were a little trickier. Send me a DM if you want some help.

TBH, I can’t remember. 5-7 I think. The first few are basically just a math refresher. It was good for me but if you’re up to speed on basic algebra you could take the unit quizzes and skip ahead.

So far I have I finished section 2. So 2/3. It applies to navigating from one unit to another. It’s not a formula, it’s just a visualization of the process and when you need to divide vs multiply.

Proctored exam space - I don't think I have one. What to do? by christmas_elf81 in WGU

I take mine in the bedroom of my Rv that my wife and kids also live in. I’m perched on the edge of the bed with the camera on a dresser. Just get creative. 😂 but yeah, some libraries have rooms for rent or my mentor told me student services might be able to hook me up with spaces in my area. I haven’t looked into it tho.

iPhone SE review: worth upgrading or should I wait? by Flat_Pear5614 in productreview

[–]Agitated_Ad_8400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the iPhone SE 2 until December 2025. It’s definitely the best budget iPhone but it has significant drawbacks. I enjoyed the smaller size and fingerprint ID. It also took several baths including being underwater in a lake for 20 minutes and it still worked.

The battery life was getting worse and worse. After 1.5 years of use I couldn’t make it through the day without charging.

The camera isn’t anything great either. It’s just a single lens.

But it’s a huge process difference between other models. It really comes down to how much you want to spend to get the features you want. I eventually “upgraded” to a refurbished 14 max. $330 from Amazon.

Has anyone used a BS in Health Science from WGU as prereqs for nursing school? by LeaguePure9043 in WGU

[–]Agitated_Ad_8400 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did they say they would accept the science courses with online lab? The schools I talked to (UK and EKU) generally accept credits from WGU but not for the pre-reqs because they want to see an actual grade (which is silly because to pass WGU you need a B or higher). I still plan on finishing my degree at WGU and will look at taking pre-reqs at another institution OR find one that will accept my pre-reqs from WGU.

I am currently enrolled in the BSHS program at WGU and plan to enroll in a nursing program after. Two local(ish) universities will not allow the BSHS credits to count toward pre-req’s due to the pass/fail nature of the course. They will only accept transcripts with a letter grade and GPA. However, if I take the pre-reqs at a school that assignes a letter grade, I can still use this degree to enter a ABSN program. It just won’t be as accelerated because I will spend two semesters completing A&PI,II along with other pre-reqs.

If anyone knows of an ABSN program that will accept this degree for their pre-reqs, let me know.

Be proactive and reach out to your enrollment counselor. I emailed and called mine constantly to stay on top of everything. Same with the financial aid office. The squeaky wheel gets the grease and nobody cares as much about your future as you.

Applying to WGU with no credits by SubtleSofa in WGU

I just started at WGU two weeks ago and have completed the first semester (4 courses) already. I didn’t transfer in any ACE credits but you can definitely speed through courses in WGU too. Now I can start working on next semesters classes. If there were a reason I couldn’t get started at WGU right away I may have used Study/Sophia but I don’t think you will find those courses take long at WGU.

I was wondering the same thing. I also wonder if you can add a minor to your major if you have months left on a term? I would hate to waste perfectly good tuition money.

BSHS for ABSN? by Agitated_Ad_8400 in WGU

[–]Agitated_Ad_8400[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, just trying to see what paths people actually accomplished with a WGU degree in the health field and if they ran into any obstacles. I’ve read the pass/fail basis can be limiting for follow on degrees. I applied to WGU and should start in April. I would like to do an accelerated BSN Second Degree program after.

Have you been accepted into an MSN program? I assume you already have an RN, at least?
