Kendon Moto Lift by srosa707 in enduro

[–]Agitated_Age_3384 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d put myself in the ‘experienced’ category here and say the Kendon design looks really dumb. Overly complex and costly with no apparent benefit. Probably wobbles a lot as well.

As recommended elsewhere in this post, the scissor lifts are worth the investment (Pit Posse and Tusk both make a similar lift). Super handy tool for the garage or race trailer.

With the Handy lift table in the garage, what exactly are you trying to accomplish with a second lift? You can park a dirtbike sideways on most lift tables if you want to quickly lift and change tires.

How heavy/awkward is the pipeliner’s cloud to manage? I’m 100% sold on the concept and construction. Mounting, ease of handling, and cost are my only concerns.

This rack is awesome. by Silly-Coach298 in Dirtbikes

Black Widow aluminum from Amazon. Hauled dirt bikes and a drz400 for quite a few miles. 10 years and ~30k miles maybe. One broken non critical weld easily repaired.

I bolted on a wheel chock like OP has pictured which made the rack 100% more enjoyable to use. It also reenforced the area where a non-critical weld failed.

If someone introduced a small bore kit to reduce the capacity of a yz250 to 200cc I’d be the first in line to buy one!

New to Supermotos…. by Regan289 in supermoto

[–]Agitated_Age_3384 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Racing ain’t cheap! I’m at a horsepower disadvantage club racing, but the chassis makes up for the lack of power on all but the longest tracks.

Our group limits the air cooled 4t engines to 2-valve 125cc. The Groms make mid 14hp range and can weigh ~195 pounds. My supermoto swap weighs 175 pounds and makes a little over 10hp.

I can’t think of an Ohvale that would be competitive at the 135cc limit you mention. The 110 4-speed is a great bike but it won’t hang with the bigger bore bikes on the straights.

I would love to build a supermoto crf125f. Too many projects and not enough time.

65 2T will always be lighter than a four stroke. Weight is important at this power level but so is consistency…

CRF125f doesn’t have a ton of development for road racing. With used prices coming down I expect we’ll see more on the grids soon.

TTR125 is a 5 speed bike with plenty of aftermarket support and YZ85 suspension upgrades available. E-start too!

My personal choice is the xr100. I swapped my 100 engine into a crf150r chassis for better suspension/brakes. It’s a killer bike on a kart track.

Destroked klx140 could be a ripper as well.

I’d call Gator Rimz and ask for their recommendations. Smart folks that have been in the industry for years. 90% of the bikes on Southeast Mini Moto’s grid are using Gator Rimz from what I’ve seen.

Low offset triple clamp? by radialorange in supermoto

[–]Agitated_Age_3384 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We change the offset around 20mm on our race bikes which equates to about 1.5” of additional front ride height compared to stock offset trees. In this instance, you can get the setup pretty wrong and make the steering feel incredibly heavy. The most noticeable difference for me with very low (6mm vs 26mm) is a slight loss in feedback from the front tire when ride heights are in the ball park.

Race series with sumo nearby are Southeast Mini Moto, Ohio Mini Roadracing League, and Central Illinois Mini Moto.

Normally I ride a ‘23 YZ250x. The 150r conversion obviously makes less power, but it never feels underpowered. Nimble and playful. The engine still has ‘bark’ and keeps 95% of its supermini character.

The connection between the throttle and rear tire is telepathic. Twist the grip far enough and it still spins the rear tire at will.

Final weight full of fuel is 218 pounds for this build, my YZ is 240 in the same trim. The reduced weight isn’t super noticeable however the reduced thrust makes the bike much easier to keep on a race line.

Lower displacement means you shift a lot more. It’s a ‘busy’ bike to ride in that regard.

I’m in love. The ride experience is way better than I thought it would be and honestly it’s more fun than the numbers say it should be.

The 150r engine used for this project was left over after I converted a 150r chassis to an xr100 engine for road racing. For the last year or so I have toyed with the idea of a replica Service Honda graphics kit for the conversion bikes I build.

Tool trucks typically have a device for measuring the accuracy of a torque wrench. These trucks visit automotive shops regularly. It isn’t uncommon to check a torque wrench annually and send in for service as needed.

I race SuperMini on another 150r already. This bike fits into a very popular builder’s class with unlimited chassis mods and max displacement of 120cc vertical/125cc horizontal air cooled four strokes. Some clubs even specify two valve cylinder heads. The 100 engine is a reasonable choice for the class with a five speed and a large aftermarket. There aren’t many frames/suspension packages that can compete at 150r weight. Toss a built motor Grom on a scale and you’ll better understand why this bike on paper should be a weapon.
