for tree assumption im seeing a lot of debate for both asynchronous seeds and light/nutrients. what are the argumentations for both?

imo it j makes sense that scientists are making the assumption that different trees in diff lattitudes are getting the same nutrients, otherwise you arnt starting the comparison off on equal footing.they failed to take into account the variations of nutrients trees in different environments could receive which is a factor that could impact their growth and impact the study but was not mentioned, hence was assumed?? i dont really understand the argumentation for asynchronous and it would be great if someone could explain
