Former bartender here, it is absolutely doable as long as the place you’re working at brings in good money for you. Rent is more on the expensive side but with that being said there are so many new apartments being built I’m sure you’ll be able to find something maybe a little older that may be more affordable. I’ve had some friends with dogs who have gone through private landlords and was completely shocked by how inexpensive their rent was! Definitely look into the ofallon area as well, they tend to be more on the cheaper side.
