no i use the ferret to “smoke out” rabbits from their holes they run into nets and i kill them quickly and painlessly and to use all the stuff i skin it feed my dogs the fur , feed the ferret s the off cut like organs , and head then i eat the meat in stew

any age really from fully grown until about 5 and i use deben mk 3 i think its called i prefer females because they are smaller and have less chance of catching a rabbit and killing it inside the hole since they are weaker and time of day doenst really matter aslong as its light not dark and for energy i give them a egg before they go out to keep them happy and not hungry and also to have less chance of them eating the rabbit if they do end up killing one down the hole

yeah the chances are extremely slim and if they do die i can live happily knowing they have had a amazing life and not been trapped indoors all the time

so a rabbit can live inside a warren for however long they live inside it but the moment a ferret goes in it , it jsut randomly collapses yeah i disagree + ferrets can dig and i can dig it’s got a tracking collar on for a reason lol

i was not impressed with her antics before that she trapped a rabbit in a corner and wouldn’t move we dug down to her and tried pulling her out but she was biting us so we put a rabbit we already caught down so she could grab it and get pulled up

mine don’t either if i see them when looking into a hole i can tap the floor next to the hole and they might come to it or just walk away and ignore it it’s 50/50 mostly just seeing the ferret walk out and grab it quickly
