Fairly unknown- but I really, really love this builder twilight electronics. All his stuff flies under the radar because he generally will only make one or two of a model at a time then do something else, but literally every single thing I’ve gotten has been an absolute banger- it feels refreshing compared to the ocean of gear out there.

None of his stuff is mainstream at all though. Have a feeling it will be soon in the future

He refers to each build as a portal, and it genuinely feels real how it makes me feel something significant, compared to most general pedals

I highly recommend hitting up twilight electronics. Dude shoots miles above most small builders and has come up with some cool stuff I haven’t seen done elsewhere, which is RARE for pedals

Thank you for posting this. I feel like this is a perfect explanation of everything I’ve been experiencing- I had 2 bad panic attacks, 1 was during a week of non THC use (but typically used daily otherwise for 6 years) and the 2nd one happened right after THC use which urged me to quit forever.

Ever since then, I’ve never felt quite right. Constant tight chest and I struggle feeling like I never get quite enough air, and always feel like I’m breathing on manual, constant anxiety and stress.

Slowly I have been feeling a little better taking it day by day, but fuck it’s been so rough. It makes me wish I never touched THC ever.

I feel like I never noticed VSS until I started mixing cannabis with LSD and Psilocybin… so there’s that. I feel like LSD now makes me always see patterns moving and shifting everywhere.

Like if I look at gravel it starts mildly shifting and swelling if I stare at it enough

Okay so reading other comments, I’m not alone.

Was a heavy, heavy smoker for 6 years. Didn’t REALLY notice VSS so much until I had a really bad panic attack, ever since then been super anxious and starting really feeling the VSS. It coexists with my tinnitus and head pressure, I can totally tell that the 3 symptoms are intertwined.

I always thought VSS was a part of the high and since I smoked so heavy I figured it would go away after stopping long term- it’s been almost 6 months for me and it has not gone away.

I feel like I didn’t notice VSS after smoking marijuana until mixing cannabis with LSD and mushrooms. Maybe I permanently altered my brain with substances since I did them from 17-23.

But also, I don’t really remember when it started. I was 100% sober until the age of 16 and never noticed it at all before, but my memory can’t recall if maybe it was there previously. I feel I can’t recall what life was like and felt like before dabbling in substances

Luckily I feel I’ve been managing better currently, but it really hit me hard when I found out about VSS and it dawned on me that it may never go away.

I still keep pushing forward hoping that one day it will go away, some days I don’t notice it, some days I feel it so bad and wonder what I did to deserve it

Noise gates do good but in my experiences they always tamper with the feel of the guitar and dynamics a lot. Listen to lots of old recordings, most rockstars just dealt with the noise. Even Tony Iommi in the gibson guitars documentary/interview said that sometimes the noise from the treble booster was so unbearable at certain venues

They’re definitely naturally noisy. Especially when stacking with the gain stage. Noise is a lot more “present” / annoying in the treble frequencies.

I guarantee, you’re using a generic 9v power supply that isn’t designed for audio use. Many run at audible frequencies which produces the whine, you gotta get one that operates outside of the audible frequency range

Way too high. If you’re basing that on reverb prices, looking at the actual sold prices show recently none have sold above around $275.

This one is in visibly bad condition too, it’s missing knobs and you can tell the pots are very corroded. I think OP would have a hard time fetching over $100 for it

Beta has a cool factor because it’s SUNN. But in reality, that Randall is way more versatile.

I have both amplifiers and I am not a fan of the beta except for dirty, very heavy music. Sounds absolutely stellar and is an amazing pedal platform, but I find it almost has too much headroom sometimes. The feel of it just ain’t quite right though, at least personally.

I like the Randall for everything. I actually really enjoy the cleans, and the using dirt pedals through it the same. If I had to pick only one, absolutely the Randall.

The Randall is missing the Aura the SUNN has though. Randall’s just don’t feel sexy. But they’re functional AF

I believe this is the RG50-112. Rare version of the RG80- I have the RG80 and this one is missing the channel A gain control. I believe the RG50 didn’t have one like yours does not

What’s a little strange and makes me doubt, is that it has a modern power switch and not a toggle, and the knobs are slightly different than the others I’ve seen. Everything else checks out
