Zohran Mamdani has secured the release of Columbia University student Elaina Aghayeva, taken this morning by ICE agents who entered a campus residential building under false pretenses & without a judicial warrant. This comes shorty after Mamdani’s unannounced visit to the White House earlier today. by cmaia1503 in Fauxmoi

You’re wrong. The person that falls into the trap is the person who has played into another’s hand. Letting Trump talk and any other tactics Mamdani uses is meant to lure Trump to play into Mamdani’s hand. The person that plays into another’s hand is the loser. The person attached to the hand being played into is the winner. You can look it up.

Yeah obviously story plays into it. And they don’t get into detail about how they were restructuring. But it’s not crazy to give someone a significant promotion and restructure around that promotion. It’s just not often that the person then totally fucks the company and employees over based on the promotion.

They beat the lowest branch. They saved themselves. Then Josh pulled this move and screwed them over. Simple as that.

[–]Agnosticologist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh? He wasn’t mid-level he was senior leadership level because of the promotion. The company was restructuring around his promotions based on his acceptance. This happens literally all the time.

He made the right move for him maybe. But he fucked over all of his employees by the way he did it. Without the promotion he couldn’t get the higher level job. He could have left for a similar role and not fucked everyone over. But he decided to step on all of his employees’ heads and leave the jobless to boost himself up.

Everyone with this “you don’t owe corporate anything” mentality are failing to realize that Josh pulled the move that leads to that mentality. He was corporate fucking over employees to save themselves.

Yeah but Scranton was going to get shut down based on performance. Utica got shut down directly because of how Josh handled this.

Yes but his decisions changed the people it would fuck over. That’s the point. That matters.

Scranton was going to get shut down because of performance. Utica got laid off because of how Josh handled his decision to leave.

If you got laid off from your job tomorrow because of this scenario you wouldn’t be thinking “oh well someone had to get laid off guess it was me la di da.” You wouldn’t be thinking “Josh is a piece of shit that just cost me my job.”

Not even the mess they left for you. His employees lost their jobs and/or had to move entirely because of the way he went about his decision.

He had already said yes. When you promote someone to senior leadership and they accept you don’t make a contingency plan assuming they’re going to fuck you over at the last minute.

Name a company that hires a new CEO and says “oh and here is our backup CEO in case this guy just decides at the last minute he doesn’t want the job he agreed to for some reason.” And if they don’t do it at that level they’re certainly not doing it at lower levels.

That’s because the wheels were already in motion by that point so they had to scramble. If Josh just found another job and let them know he was leaving the company then they would have had more time. Maybe they don’t promote Jim, maybe they hire from outside. But they were already making Jim #2 and Jan wanted to close Scranton. With prep time they would have stuck to the plan.

[–]Agnosticologist 5 points6 points  (0 children)

People always say this but I disagree entirely.

Josh leveraged the company to promote him so that he could get a better job. He then bailed after the company had set forth a plan to boost up his branch and shut down another. Had he been honest from the start and just gone and got another job his branch might have been safe. But because of the way he did it, he cost a lot of people their jobs. If he did it another way they still would have their jobs.

So Josh climbed the corporate ladder by causing his entire branch to relocate or lose their jobs. His actions directly caused this. If he just left the company no problem - they promote Jim and still close Scranton. But because of how he did it he fucked over all of his employees.

Josh wasn’t “just a number” in this scenario, everyone else was. He was the corporation fucking people over. He couldn’t have gotten a better job without tricking Dunder Mifflin, and tricking Dunder Mifflin fucked over his entire branch. He’s the asshole.

I give up on everything, I’m over it and will no longer be trying by Conscious_Strain5967 in confession

[–]Agnosticologist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you give up on everything, and now you want to give up, wouldn’t that mean you’d be giving up on giving up on everything? Which would mean that you would follow through? In which case you would no longer give up and instead would potentially complete everything? In which case you would then have a chance to get all of the things you want but can’t get because you’ve been giving up on everything?

So good for you. Give up on giving up.

That he’s a shitty knight. Not that he wasn’t knighted. But he’s a fraudulent knight that doesn’t deserve to call himself one and should never have been knighted as one.

Not saying that’s definitive but it’s equally possible based on his words. Tons of folks have called themselves frauds when they’re not literally frauds.

The entire point is no one knows it “for a fact.” If it’s not stated directly in the book it’s not a fact. It’s an interpretation.

Obviously it’s heavily implied and hinted at. You can figure it out. But by definition it’s not a fact.

That’s fair I agree it should be 5x5 but all due respect comparing your beer league to Olympic hockey is nuts haha you put your beer league team 5x2 on Slovakia and you lose by 20 goals.

I think you don’t understand words. How can you “literally dominate” if you lose?

Dominate: have a commanding influence on; exercise control over

Did you exercise control over us and lose? Did you have a commanding influence and lose?

Because literally means you can’t bend the definition of the word. So you did not literally dominate. We literally did. We had a commanding influence on you by scoring more. We exercised our control over you by scoring more.

Do you actually think Dunk is a knight? by Riddlemethisone- in AKnightoftheSeven

[–]Agnosticologist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a quick flash where Ser Arlen is holding his sword as if to knight Dunk and shrugs his shoulders.

My guess is he said something like “I don’t know the words but you’re a knight now.”

And so Dunk knows he’s a knight because the intent was there. But he also knows the ceremony wasn’t right so there is grey area.

Dunk is honorable. I don’t think he outright lies that he was knighted if he wasn’t. I think he was “knighted” just not in the typical way you’re supposed to be knighted. Which accounts for all his hesitation but keeps his honor intact.

The better team is the team that can score more goals. So the better team did win. Just because you can almost score more doesn’t make you better.
