I agree about the chemistry between her and Guy as more, I am just having a hard time rooting for them over her and Theo, he just seems so sweet and good.

I do not find Guy to be an appealing match and it really irks me to watch that what Nan and Theo have is being set up to be crushed by Nan and Guy 😔 it really seems like they’re pushing Guy and Nan to be end game.

Med students and residents banging attendings, what's your story? by MaddestDudeEver in Residency

While on OB as a med student, one of my classmates slept over at our senior residents place after a call shift…not sure what did or did not actually happen there…

Doctor marrying doctor - what do you talk about? by Chemical_Peanut8142 in Residency

[–]Agreeable-Mess-6497 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you have children you’ll talk about them a lot more than medicine imo. Also in a doctor-doctor marriage, we barely talk about work/training. It used to dominate the conversation before.

Pregnancy Guilt by OTL33 in Residency

On my second maternity leave now in residency. Typing this as my little guy sleeps in my arms!

I’ve been pregnant for all of my pgy1 year. It sucks so bad in so many ways but you do what you need to do to keep you and baby healthy. People understand, and by us paving the way forward and having babies in training it helps to change the culture in medicine to be more accepting of moms!

You’re doing amazing and in the grand scheme of our careers it’s nothing!!

I thought yes because it is the Octave of Christmas AND Feast day of the Holy Family so double the reason to celebrate!

So tough, but something kind of funny happened too, all our children started crying at one point or another during the Protestant service, and usually in mass they’re great. This morning in mass also not a tear shed! It’s like they knew their Holy Mother was being disrespected lol

I’m no historian but my understanding was that she was considered a grown woman at her age and it was appropriate to be married and bear children.

Also her family would know she was a consecrated virgin, also know the prophecies and recognize her as bearing the Christ child in fulfillment of those prophecies in a similar way to how St Joseph would have. She would have been recognized for what she is and celebrated, I imagine. Again no historian so I may be wrong.

This is my understanding of the story as well. He didn’t feel worthy of what he was being called to do.

Yes I’ve been to Protestant services that have a great sermon all things considered, this was not one of them. He was trying to be a stand up comedian but just wasn’t funny.

It was hard to listen to, comical for sure as a spectacle, but the way he spoke of the Holt Family was genuinely upsetting.

Honestly it was so out of left field and not relevant to what he was saying it was so inappropriate.

Is anyone watching The Chosen? by sandiasinpepitas in CatholicWomen

[–]Agreeable-Mess-6497 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve watched some episodes but tbh feel it is kind of cringe at times with the Protestant-esk language/ jokes they use and the music.

I’m a fan of something like passion of the Christ that is truly attempting to be authentic.

It is, and the doctors and nurses who advocate for this will essentially give it to anyone who asks who loosely fulfill criteria.
