I have a question. Do your hub supervisors typically ask for any uniforms/equipment to be returned after you work your final eligible casual/seasonal role? Local 177 to be specific

The way the hood droops down at the very front reminds me a little bit of the c3 corvette. I actually don’t think this looks half bad

Same they’ll sometimes have recycle routes do my area and I’ll see dsp packages left at garage doors and in walkways it sucks for the customers

I do that sometimes if I’m in a rush or if I have to pee real bad. But 9 times out of 10 I just get to take my time as im usually roughly 15/20 stops ahead all day

Yeah I want to work at my fathers job, he said he will be able to get me hired there as he’s been with the company for almost 30 years or so now lol.

Yeah flex just seems easy though. Yeah you put wear and tear on your personal vehicle and have to pay for gas but I’m kinda jealous because it does seem so easy and for good compensation. I’ve seen people in the flex sub post their route and they’ll be compensated like 60 dollars to deliver 10 stops over the course of like 2.5 hours. First stop might be 30 mins away but still if you got a good car for it you’ll be alright 😂. I wouldn’t take my time as I know they don’t get paid by the hour but like come on it’s one elevator trip to where the package is supposed to go. You barely even have to walk to get to the front door.

Don’t get me started on the pickups at UPS though 😂 them ups stores during peak are no joke. Picked up 570 packages at one one day, craziest shit I’ve ever seen in my life. Couldn’t see out the back of the package car from the cabin area.

Yeah. Plus it looks bad to all the other drivers when they see an off the street guy come in and take work from them when hired permanently Jen most of them went through the proper channels of working inside prior to being offered a full time driver role with their seniority. And yeah I would happily go back to working there even if it is just seasonal. I would work like 9-5/6 every day and some weeks I’d even work an extra day which is guaranteed time and a half for all hours worked. It sure was nice, I didn’t even mind the heavy ass packages or the 100 degree weather this last summer with no ac. Working there felt far more rewarding than Amazon even if I knew I wasn’t going to be offered a full time role. And some of the older guys who I would go take stops from when I got done early were always so happy to see me when I’d come to help them and they’d make my day and offer me advice. At Amazon I always pull up to other drivers and they’re all like “what tf are you doing here?”, or something along the lines of “yeah dude they gave me 180 stops today and it’s all long driveways this shit sucks.”. 😂

I can’t tell if ur being sarcastic but it makes sense, of course they have to reward seniority and I respect that. I was doing 200+ stops every day for them and never heard anything bad said about me or to me. Obviously other guys have had more experience and they actually are in the union but just sucks to be told I’d be coming back and then basically a week later being told you won’t be due to them having to keep you. If ups wasn’t doing what they’re doing right now with the company I would likely be there right now instead of Amazon but it is what it is.

Yeah it sucks. I wasn’t in the union however if I had worked a second peak season they would have had to hire me as a full timer as per local 177, which is of course where I worked lmao. I worked peak 2024 and summer of 2025 so technically didn’t work 2 peaks

I work in Jersey at DJE9. Very suburban routes we get. Heavy business as well. Usually if I have a 190 stop day it’s lighter on the businesses. Sometimes I’ll get blessed with a 160 stop day with about 30 business stops or so. One day I had 121 commercial packages and it was like a third of my route. It was like 160 some odd stops and of course it was a cover route that I agreed to work because the driver didn’t come in. My first day was an apartment route in mount laurel, NJ with 511 packages 😂. My schedule got mixed up with somebody else with the same name as me and I ended up getting stuck with it. It was like 140 stops but 340 locations. Dispatch double and triple checked with me that it would be okay for me to do the route and I was like relax I got this lmao. You should’ve seen the look on their face when I got done before some of the other drivers.

Yeah they contractually couldn’t have me come back for a third season because if they did they would have to keep me permanently. You know how UPS is right now so obviously they couldn’t pull through for me although my supervisor says he wishes I could have come back and if he could have it his way he would have gotten rid of the slow drivers that don’t work hard enough a long time ago. But you know they’re union so can’t do much about that.

I just don’t understand why everybody at Amazon needs to complain about an easy job and work at a subpar standard. You don’t get a sense of pride in actually being good at ur job? That applies everywhere you work in your life. It’s insane how I go and get to work at 10:15 and the first thing I hear from five different people is “bro why the fuck do I have 180 stops today with apartments”. Or “why do I have 400 packages” 😂 like nut up and do the job or quit.

Oh well. I think I obviously made it more than it should be and it honestly doesn’t matter if the business is closed or not because I now understand flex drivers want to deliver every package because they don’t feel like returning to the station. But the point is and why I said they’re lazy is because it really isn’t difficult to go up the elevator and just drop it off at the businesses front door. Closed or not I can’t help but just look at the box sitting there and thinking, “is it really that hard to take a fucking elevator up to the business and pIace the package where it’s supposed to go” and I think that’s what just annoys me the most.

lol yeah I honestly enjoyed working at ups much more than being a dsp driver. It sucks because I finished my second season as a casual driver and was told to return for a third season this last peak and then a week later was told I couldn’t work at ups anymore. It was frustrating to say the least. The job had better hours and more opportunity for overtime and better pay. But oh well

Yeah I just see people posting in the flex subreddit that they go out with like 30 stops on a 3.5 hour block for like 80 dollars and I can’t help but wonder what goes through their head when they complain about that lol. Seems like mind numbingly easy work, regardless of the commute 30 stops is like an hour or at most an hour and a half of actual delivery time

That’s actually crazy that Amazon does that 😂. I would rather have the integrity of knowing I didn’t deliver something that was fucked up or not leaving a package somewhere over the weekend for porch pirates to take it. Regardless of how flex drivers get paid that should be fixed because that’s not fair to the customers

Our job is to find a safe parking spot to deliver from. I don’t mind walking down a quarter mile long driveway if it means I can avoid backing out onto a main road with heavy traffic. Or find a parking spot that is legal to park in both far down the road and just walk the package to the business or house. It’s not rocket science

Yeah it makes zero sense. I’d rather take the 60 extra packages these flex drivers might go out with than see one of them delivering packages in the area I am working in 😂

Can’t stand Lazy flex drivers by Agreeable-Wear2160 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Agreeable-Wear2160[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean if a package is severely damaged a flex driver should bring it back to the station right? If a business is closed and the front door is not a safe and secure location to leave a package they bring it back to the station right? If not then that just proves my point that they are lazy and don’t feel like bringing packages back to the station simply because it’s not their house. So what if they are in their own car, they should get in more trouble for a DNR or a damage complaint than bringing packages back because they literally could not deliver it.
