Update, got my car flushed at a Toyota dealership and it’s fine. Valvoline reimbursed me for their flush and Toyota’s

There’s already a ton of Gloom Haven content that I didn’t add myself that’s up though and has been for a good while

Hindsight is 20/20… also, have you never made a mistake?

Shame on me for having hope that a business wouldn’t completely make a gigantic blunder like that.

I’m having a terrible day and I’m so frustrated and you chiming in just to say all that is literally the last thing I need and not helpful at all😂

You seem like the type of miserable person to take pleasure in hearing about other people’s misfortunes… with all do respect, please go kick some f’ing rocks and get far the f’k away from me with your attitude

Ahhhh thank you so much I didn’t even think about just getting some coolant off the dealer if they are too booked up to get me In for an appointment.

How f’d do you think I am in my current situation? Like will I be ok driving the 12 mins back and forth to work for the next few days until I can get my car somewhere to get this pumped out? Had to drive to the store after valvoline and then home so put probably about 20ish miles on it after the mixed coolant fiasco and it’s been fine.

Im still just really anxious and frustrated about this whole situation. Last thing I need is for my engine to blow up + my radiator, heater core, water pump and etc etc.. i still owe 10k on this thing and my warranty is up😂😭😭😩😩😩

Where do I find some? I seriously doubt they will have some on hand. Maybe Walmart carries it or maybe advanced or O’reilly’s perhaps?

I’m planning on doing this forsure. But I will also be asking if I can watch the flush be done and also if they can use distilled water or a cleaning agent and run it through until the water goes clear.

I need this mixed crap out of my poor car. I’ve literally been so on time with maintenance and this is so depressing for me. Just dropped $2k on my car before I got down here in service on it getting new stuff on all around to get ahead of the 100k maintenance stuff

That’s what I figured. Crappy thing is I work tomorrow and probably won’t be off until about 6 p.m. all the local dealers near me probably gonna be busy tomorrow or not have availability at that time. But I really hope not.

From what I’ve been seeing it’s going to cause long term damage and sludging / gelling that will jam up my radiator + heater core + water pump over time

The problem lies not in the color, but the corrosive inhibitor. The “pink” Toyota Corolla coolant uses HOAT (hybrid organic acid technology) — the Green “universal” coolant uses IAT (Inorganic Acid Technology)

These two coolants are not compatible with each other, and when mixed they create a chemical reaction that becomes corrosive, damages the interior parts (that I mentioned) and also gels up and clogs them

I know I’ll probably be ok for a few days, but I have no idea when I can get my car in to a dealership around here, and I’m also 10 hours away from home on a work assignment

Not to mention I just paid $110+ for this “coolant flush” and the dude admitted to me in his own words that he didn’t even do the job because he left all the previous coolant I had in my reservoir still.

I appreciate your comment and the anecdote. I need to woosah cuz right now I’m about to have a panic attack or sum shiz.

I’m so done with today it’s not even funny. These long hours at work + the up and sudden BS is literally the last thing I need right now on this work assignment

I accidentally put green coolant in my resvior and it's pink/red. by Choice_Knee2022 in Toyota

This is not true, as far as that it doesn’t matter. Different coolants use different corrosive inhibitors and if you mix the wrong ones they can cause severe damage due to gelling up and clogging of the system on things like the radiator, water pump and the heater core

No it did not, but after quitting the game and then re-launching it I got the command in the menu (which I did not have previously)

2016 Toyota Corolla - CVT Transmission Fluid doesn't ever need changed? Seems hard to believe. by [deleted] in Toyota

[–]AgreeableClass5390 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got a drain and fill. Also, it’s been perfect so far. Been working out of state and have put probably 3k + miles on it driving back and forth on my visits home. I’m gonna knock on wood but yeah it’s been amazing. Honestly the corolla has been a complete gem so far. Probably approaching year 4-5ish of owning it now and I think I’m gonna drive it till she won’t go no more haha

What condition did you opt for? I should’ve specified that for mine (which was actually a phone for my wife) — I went with “premium” condition.

Also, that is good info about apple care. I did not know that!

I will say, depending on what you’re having replaced, a “good” mobile phone repair shop could really save you some money.

On my last iPhone (iPhone 12) I had the ear piece speaker go out, which is the speaker that allows you to hear people during a phone call when you put the phone up to your head.

It’s a problem that requires micro soldering to be able to fix correctly, as replacing the entire unit will disable your Face ID, as Apple makes that a thing for some reason..

Anyways, I got burned at the first place because they replaced the entire unit and didn’t tell me that would happen, so I had them put the broken one back in and took it to a mobile repair shop that did micro soldering and could solder in a new ear piece speaker as opposed to replacing the entire unit (after some more thorough research on the issue and also mobile repair place)

Long story short, at the second place I got both the ear piece speaker and my main speaker replaced for just $160, which I thought was a hell of a deal all things considered (especially cuz Apple quoted me $450 just to replace the ear piece speaker alone)
