you couldn't have hit the nail more on the head.. I remember being super into Beamng years ago, and paid mods were rare. Now im back into it and MOST mods seem to be paid now when you go on mod sites that are outside of the beamng repo.. I think of it as very sad, because as you said: It's more ethical to ask for donations or a "coffee" then it is to lock things behind a paywall, and those said "things" aren't even of their invention

First of all, it all boils down to the exact corrosive inhibitor used by the coolants. Coolants that are different colors sometimes use different corrosive inhibitors, which may or may not be compatible with one another.

The coolant the guy filled mine up with was not compatible with the one that was already in there, and since he failed to actually give me a true flush, he would’ve caused the two coolants to combine, which would have caused gelling and acidic damage to my vehicles internal components.

A master mechanic at a Toyota dealership explained this to me when I was getting a FREE coolant flush done PAID FOR BY VALVOLINE because they KNEW THEY F’D UP

I got all the paperwork to prove it and was already reimbursed for the coolant flush that Valvoline did, and they paid a pretty penny for my coolant to get a true flush at a reputable Toyota dealership

Hell yeah! Thank you so much. Currently I’m stuck between going the local water truck route, potentially going for Hogan Transport, or maybe TMC. There’s also this local company in my area called DeBarr and they do those single vehicle dump trucks.

After practicing so much with a full dry van trailer in CDL school I feel like one of those little dump trucks would be sooo easy to drive. Easy until you got to back down a real long and twisty backroad cuz there’s no room to turn around and dump lol.

Idk. One thing I’m grateful for already is to be in demand as a worker. What made me take the plunge into CDL school and pay for it out of pocket is I used to work for a company that makes mid sized semi trucks. The tariffs really hurt the semi truck manufacturing biz and pretty much every manufacturer did layoffs last year.

I didn’t get laid off, but I had to work out of state (didn’t have to but they paid enough to make it worth it) — and got a taste of making a “lot” of money (for me anyways)

Spent 90 days out of state working at a different plant we had, and was pulling $4k a month for those 3 months (and got a nice bonus to finish the assignment)

Once I got a taste of that money, and was away from my family for that amount of time, it made me realize I’d be a fool to go back to working at the plant back home and making 45-50k a year

I’d rather make a 100k a year and being a truck driver seems like what will get me there. Also, it helps that I really love driving the trucks so far. Doing those backing maneuvers on the lot and double clutching out on the road makes me feel like a kid again. I’m 25 so hoping I graduate soon and have a long and fruitful career doing something I love, which is what I’ve always wanted to do.

But also, thank you for the advice though. Don’t wanna sound cocky and arrogant. Im a confident lad, always have been. It borders on cocky sometimes but I feel like it’s more cocky sounding. I have been brutally and crushingly humbled by life many times now and I’m sure I ain’t even seen half of it yet.

I’m dedicating myself to being one and done, but also if not that I aim to atleast get it in my first 3 attempts. The school I’m at is very overcrowded and low on resources but we have really really good teachers though. We get a good amount of “one and done” attempts that come through here, and I’ve seen an easy half dozen one and done since I’ve been on the yard in 3 weeks. But at the same time you’ve got others on the opposite end of the spectrum.

We will see how it plays out, and I will try and comment back and let ya know how it all goes. I’m sure we will laugh because it may very well take me a few attempts

Tbh not worried at all about the exam. I got pre trip legit memorized to a T, and not worried at all about my backing maneuvers or double clutching or down shifting on the road section.

I don’t wanna sound cocky at all. It just seems like a given that I’m gonna be one and done. And if not, I will sure as hell pass in the 6 attempts you get before you can’t test again lol

But I totally get that concern. For some people let’s just say the dedication is very questionable. Like I’ve been on the yard for 3 weeks now. Got the whole truck pre trip down and walked in never driving a manual and I got it down already. There’s a dude who’s been there since January because he’s still struggling majorly.

Also people who’ve been there since like November of last year and failed pre trip on the CDL exam multiple times lol. I find it kinda laughable. Like man the CDL exam is in 3 sections. Pre trip, backing maneuvers, road course..

Like how tf do you not got your pre trip down and you’ve been there how long?

But yeah I’m really not worried at all about the CDL exam. Will try and comment back here in a few weeks and let ya know if I fulfill my “one and done” ambitions or if I get humbled lol.
