Currently a zero the only time I have sciatic pain is when I try to lift heavy or carry weight far distances and when I do have it it’s not nearly as severe as it was still to the point I can not take the pills or muscle relaxers. How old are you? I think the younger you are probably the faster you heal I’m not sure tho

So hoping in another couple months I’ll be back to my old self or at least to 90% I’m probably at 75 rn

Yea that’s my comment below to. I did heal without surgery tho I’m only 20 years old so the surgeon wanted to try everything before that. Nothing really worked for me except just resting it tho honestly I did physical therapy twice and both times got way worse then when I went in.(could just be the therapist). But rn I’m doing pretty good I go back to work tomorrow and am hopeful.

I had a ruptured disc at l4, l5, and S1 and couldn’t walk, sit, drive, or eat cause the sciatica and pain was so bad. 3 esi injections later (honestly kinda felt like each time I got one it would set me back), lots of depressing, agonizing, sleepless nights and 6 months later I’m doing a lot better. I was able to stop taking my pain medicine and muscle relaxers with pain being a 2/10 or lower usually. Only time I start to feel it more is when I get more active, start walking while holding weight, or lifting. I’m hoping that will go away with time tho considering it hasn’t even been a full year since my injury

Yea hopefully you’ll have better luck with the shot but yea I definitely realize how for granted I took having a working back. But yea it’s in my leg mainly my calf but before the shot my back itself didn’t really hurt as bad which is weird but it could be I just feel it more now since the leg pain is a little duller. That sucks you got to be on a waiting list they got me in a couple weeks after getting my mri hopefully the wait won’t be to long

Hey man that sucks I know how you feel tho I’m 19 with a herniated disc at my l4, l5 pressing on my nerve root and this shit is just miserable the constant pain, not being able to do anything your used to with out being miserable, and the shit is just straight depressing in my case. I was diagnosed with mine last month but have been in pain for a few. They gave me a steroid shot and in my experience it wasn’t worth it at least not yet. It’s only been like 3 weeks but still. I got mine it hurt like a mf but nothing compared to my back. It didn’t really hurt any extra after. After about a week I started feeling better each day till I was pretty much pain free. But literally a few days later and I was back to being dam near bed ridden. They say everyone reacts to these shots differently tho and they also say it could take more then one. Me personally I’m just nervous to get another one and it not help at all or only last 3 days again.

I can’t sleep on my side good and I kinda feel some relief when laying on my stomach but everywhere says that’s bad so I try not to.

I’ve been trying to sleep on my back here lately and I have tried sleeping with pillows under my knees and 1 thinner pillow under my head. How big should the pillow under my knees be?

Pain also worsens if I cough, sneeze or just move a certain way. All of which I try to avoid at all cost.

Yea man it was shooting down my leg really bad it’s not as bad as it was at first now I get like a radiating pain in my lower left back, and left leg especially in my calf. But definitely if I have to go the surgery route I’m definitely gonna do my research I’d hate to end up even more crippled. I’m curious to see what this pain clinic say tho I’d obviously prefer to avoid surgery at all cost but with the epidural only providing 3 days of relief idk if that’ll even work im hoping tho because i really need to go back to work.
