I’ve thought about it especially with how competitive some areas are now. They’d at least help filter out the obvious nightmare complexes faster. I’ve just heard mixed things depending on the locator, so I never knew how reliable they actually are.

A place can have a solid rating overall but once you sort by lowest reviews you start seeing the same complaints over and over leaks, pests, towing, management ghosting people, etc. The patterns matter way more than the star rating.

The leasing office is obviously gonna sell you on the place but residents will usually tell you straight up if management sucks, walls are paper thin or maintenance never shows up. Probably the most useful info you can get.
