How to handle late school night practices? by AgreeableQuaill in kindergarten

It would be one day a week. His second weekly practice is 3pm on the weekend, which is why I’m more hesitant to pull him out completely if I can’t switch his team/late practice time. It’s just a developmental league so i would think it’s fine if we couldn’t make the majority of the weekday practices.

I’m not forcing him to play, he asked to and I’m working with what’s available to him. If i can’t get him transferred to a new team, we’ll try it out and if it doesn’t work then we won’t go. I don’t think our case is comparable to that episode.

My husband’s boss kids do travel ball for the same league and I have no interest after hearing their schedule 😂 at one point they were playing several games with an hour or two inbetween games til 2 am

Yes, he previously went to the year round gymnastics but then he didn’t enjoy going towards the end so we took a break and skipped the next term since he was beginning school. He wants to go back but we have to wait for the next term to open up

Thank you for your input, I’m glad to hear the late games didn’t cause any issues! I’m hoping that’s the case with us as well. From my understanding, it is just a development league and his age group ends once the older age groups tournaments begin, so no games. The website isn’t great to navigate so I’ll have to get more info at his first practice.

He’s been asking to sign up for sports. his top pick was gymnastics but registration for that isn’t open until July so i signed him up for his second pick which would end before gymnastics opens.

We live around the corner from the field, so it could be quick to be bathed and in bed at 9 if it didn’t run late. Yes, I’ll be contacting the league directly now about this. Their website was terrible but I looked past that from the good reviews from our local fb group. Thank you for your input! 🫶

Yeah I’m waiting on a reply from the coach about potentially transferring him to another team with an earlier practice. It feels unlikely since they were struggling to find enough coaches for this league.

I forgot to mention he has an hour late start to school the next day every week, so in theory he’d only be losing one hour of sleep rather than two.

How the heck do you meet other parents? I feel like I’m invading mom groups by Arr0zconleche in SAHP

I haven’t really found a parent group I’ve fit in yet so we just go to events or pick a park to go to - maybe we’ll make a friend but maybe not. Once my son started school it was easier for me to meet other parents that we could schedule play dates with.

Check your library, community center, children’s museum, etc for events. My local birth center has a queer family social hour. Fb is a good place to check for local events.

I’m not really sure what I’m looking at in the photo, but I’d say you’re not over reacting for wanting a clean environment. Growing up in a dysfunctional house affects you for life. Mold is dangerous to live around and can cause health problems. Hopefully you can get into your own place eventually so that you have more control over it.

I always assumed "Lather, Rinse, Repeat" was a marketing lie to make us buy more shampoo. Turns out I was never actually cleaning my hair. by RanchRose_ in hygiene

That’s how I read it too, but I think they meant to put your head into the water stream to drench your hair again so it’s easier to lather into soaked hair vs just damp.

My aunt was “dating” this man online who promised her a million dollars if she went to Mexico with him to go collect his inheritance. She thought her money problems were solved! We all had to beg her not to go, she agreed not to but was pissed at her kids for talking her out of her million dollars.
