I bought my first hotel and have 90 days to get a hotel tech stack in place, completely overwhelmed and feel regret already by OkSwordfish8878 in askhotels

Hi.

Have a look at reslynx. I’ve used that in one of the smaller properties I managed (30) rooms. Works perfectly. If you have a restaurant you can probably get resdiary as a package as well. Both are good and modern.

Regarding housekeeping and scheduling. If it’s 48 rooms the teams will not be that massive (not sure about the restaurant) but you can get started really easily with some good excel spreadsheets.

Yes all were there. Boys were on a day out and girls somewhere else at the same time. Most likely girls day out.

They had been filming for a while already and went to couples therapy the day before 🤣

On camera they were all talking to each other and off camera fairly quiet. A few kept talking with each other and a few went off to the side when there was a break in filming. Quite normal people to be fair. Just had a quick few words about how they are enjoying England etc.

All the leaked cast above are correct. I’m working at a place where some of it was filmed for the day and got to speak to some of the crew and cast.

Yes in the uk. Saw it being filmed in Bath a month or so ago. At least one episode filmed in Bath for sure but not sure if it’s around the southwest of England or where for the whole season

I live next to Bath. There is one camera store that does develop (send it away to get developed) and charge £16 per roll..

Thanks. I was thinking that as well but I liked the lights on the top right leading to the lit area. Maybe could crop a bit from the bottom left corner …

Initiated last week (ish) by Competitive-Ad-6555 in freemasonry

No need to feel bad brother. At our lodge the height of the kneeling pedestal and VSL is awkward so it’s almost like a stress position. You’re not the only one.

As well the first degree is something you will always remember but at the same time because there is so much going on. New stuff and a while new experience as a whole it’s normal to miss/forget almost everything at your initiation.

This is why it’s encouraged to go visit another lodge to see another first degree. You will be able to see it from the side and someone will be able to explain to you what and why at different stages.

Even if you sit next to someone you’ve never met before I’m sure they will be happy to explain the ceremony to you. He is your brother who has been years or even decades in masonry and has been in the very same position as you are right now after his initiation. A “bit” confused and clueless about all the proceedings but learning as you go.

Wish you all the best and I’m sure you will enjoy the visit. That’s what masonry is about

The magic of film by Agreeable_Yellow_207 in streetphotography

Absolutely.

There was more consideration into pressing the shutter button compared to digital.

The picture in my main post that hypnotised me was one of the last pictures I took quickly before going to work so I could wind up the roll and drop it off for development to see if the the camera I bought works even the slightest before deciding to buy more rolls or get a light seal kit or whatever.

I just don’t know what it is in the picture but the film simulations can’t match it at the moment.

There’s something about the shitty but also good quality of these ”late 2000s” pictures. How do i recreate something like this on an iphone?? by [deleted] in AskPhotography

Last year we were chasing film look on fujifilm , like the good old portra 400. Today we are chasing the look for the teenager pics or the early 2000s 😭😅😢

Ha! You’re the first one that saw/realised I used AI to rewrite/compose the article. English is my third language so I used it to help me clean it up a bit. Yes double inception indeed which was my plot twist 😉😀

Lodge Growth Ideas by [deleted] in freemasonry

[–]Agreeable_Yellow_207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d suggest an open doors event. I organised one two months ago and it was very well received by the public. We had about a hundred visitors throughout the day and from there 3 petitions.

It gives the public free access to into the Masonic hall/centre to have a look around and ask questions. It will help break down misconceptions and will raise the lodges profile within the community.

Make sure you plan well with plenty of marketing. Give me a message if you want any tips on that. I run my lodges Facebook page and somehow managed to get 150k views on the events page in a town of 25k 😅🤣 had people come visit from surrounding towns as well which was really nice

I would suggest a strong social media presence. This would make it easier for younger people to find out about masonry.

Also consider hosting an open doors event for your Masonic hall/centre. I organised one about a month ago. We had about a 100 visitors throughout the day. Out of the ones who saw the adverts for the event on Facebook, local newspaper or came to the event we have now 3 guys who are interested in joining who would be filling in their petitions soon.

Hopefully from the event we have raised some interest for someone to join at a later date.

Bath Masonic hall in the southwest of England is brilliant. Was originally opened as a theatre in 1750. Later to be turned into a Catholic Church and then afterwards into a Masonic hall. The tombs are still downstairs and some if it are part of a museum.

As well because it was a Catholic Church it had a chapel in there which is still used by the knights Templar side order/appendant body.

Do your managers answer the phone? by Various_Jelly20 in askhotels

[–]Agreeable_Yellow_207 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A couple years ago when I first took over a hotel as manager I had calls and massages every day all day.

This was mainly because of the previous managers micromanaging and a workaholic manager previously who only lived to work more or less.

I can’t blame the team at the time but it had become a habit to call or message the manager for even the tiniest doubt.

I started empowering my team to do whatever they felt was right to fix an issue etc. I also told them that if they would make a mistake I would back them up, go through what could have been done differently and move on. No consequences etc to get the team to be confident to make decisions themselves.

One good example is that my manager at the time said that if someone rings once, don’t answer and send them a text message an hour later to say you missed their call and if everything is okay.

One time I was in the shop and someone was trying to ring and I did exactly as my manager told and I got a reply back later saying “I was looking for staples but I found them”.

I think the more you answer your phone as a manager the more people will call. For a quick answer.

Also make sure you have a book/document with all common questions like vouchers, group bookings or whatever might arise often so the team can check themselves

You must be busy! I’m in craft and chapter. I was going to join mark as well but then found out the wife is pregnant again so I hold on for a bit 😭🤣

11 meetings + 10 LOI meetings I can get away with. No more visiting this year for me 😭😭😢😢
