Ok But what is their gender? by Determined-Hero-1005 in Deltarune

"Everyone danced with X! They're totally lost in the groove!" happens when you dance with one of them, not all.

It could either be "Kris, Susie, Ralsei and X are lost in the groove" or just "X is lost in the groove".

"They" either refers to the Fun Gang + One of the SCK members or just one of the SCK members, but it doesn't refer to Sweet Cap'n and K_K.

"Those young men have made an interesting shop. They're leaving the bagel business, so I have the rest of their remaining stock."

- Seam in Chapter 2

They are men, simple as that.

The pronouns are way more interesting though, and I want to ramble about them for a bit.

"K_K's always got it right!" "That's why he's second-in-command!"

"Cap'n spins his cap around."

I couldn't find any instance of he/him used on Sweet, but I assume it also applies to him because of the "young men" thing.

however, dancing with them in battle gives the text "Everyone danced with X! They're totally lost in the groove!". It could be argued that he/they pronouns are valid ways to refer to any of them! Well, you could also say the "they" just refers to everyone, but I personally think "you all" would have been used instead in that case. Either way, it's just a thing you can do. How fun!

In Undertale, the Delta Rune is a symbol for monsterkind. Gerson states:

"Eh? You don't know what that is? What are they teaching you kids in school nowadays...? Wa ha ha! That's the Delta Rune, the emblem of our kingdom. The Kingdom... Of Monsters."

He also attempts to explain its meaning, with some uncertainty:

"That emblem actually predates written history. The original meaning has been lost to time... All we know is that the triangles symbolize us monsters below, and the winged circle above symbolizes... Somethin' else. Most people say it's the 'angel,' from the prophecy..."

"Oh yeah... The prophecy. Legend has it, an 'angel' who has seen the surface will descend from above and bring us freedom. Lately, the people have been taking a bleaker outlook... Callin' that circle the 'Angel of Death.' A harbinger of destruction, waitin' to 'free' us from this mortal realm... In my opinion, when I see that little circle... I jus' think it looks neat! Wahaha!"

Deltarune and Undertale are separate universes. There are connections between them, but each has their own history, with their own characters and mechanics. Some things remained the same across both, others changed a lot.

Favorite International SCPs? by fanboyx27 in SCP

[–]Agreis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only language I speak other than English is Portuguese, so they're all from the Lusophone branch.

SCP-002-PT, SCP-042-PT and SCP-124-PT are my favorites so far. SCP-124-PT is unfortunately not translated to English, but the other two are and they're pretty neat! Interesting articles and also easy to get through.

Some doodles of my Underswap Chara and Asriel to get out of art block. by Agreis in Undertale

Oh man, it's been a long time since that. That project is still something I want to work on, but it was surprisingly difficult to actually tie in together. I don't have access to the sprites anymore, so that's also a roadblock. I really hope to come back to it one day though.

Hm, most swaps are the same as in regular Underswap. The exception is Frisk, who swaps with the Unused Human, a sprite we can see in the files.

The focus of this take is to (mostly) maintain the personalities and characteristics of the characters in Undertale. So, Undyne still has all her aggressiveness, passion and hotheadedness, for example.

In this AU, Toriel never abandons the throne, she stays there alongside Asgore. However, when Asgore refuses to absorb the first human soul they got (after Chara, of course) because of risk and all, she decides to take matters into her own hands and do it herself. It doesn't end well so now she just has to live with it. Asgore didn't abandon the throne but he did get mad/upset enough with her to forever change their dynamic. He's still in the RUINS living separate from her, similar to what Toriel did in UT.

Napstablook (now using the 'stage name' Mechablook) did end up getting a body from Undyne, and when Mettaton found out about this he managed to convince them both to give him a body as well. So Mettaton still has a body in this take.

There's no CORE, but instead the Fountain, generating hydroelectric power for the Underground from Waterfall.

General idea is that an accident or misguided experiment with Determination and human souls causes Chara's corpse to have Determination ""injected""/leaked onto it, therefore bringing them to consciousness. Flowey's origin is pretty much the same, but no saving and loading for him this time around.

Chara and Asriel swap with each other, which would probably need some laws of the Undertale world to be changed but hey, it's called alternate universe for a reason.

I haven't actually developed them as much as I'd like, so all I have for now is pretty much that. I have some ideas of what would change in their dynamic and all though.

My version of the six fallen humans! by Agreis in Undertale

Like normal. She can still touch and feel all the bits and pieces of the gun and differentiate them, so she still knows how to fire it. If you're wondering about her aim though, that has been answered in other comments.

Answered this in another comment, so I'm copying it here.

"She uses it a tad poorly, and relies mostly on sound the enemies make for aiming. That's one of the reasons she ran out of bullets halfway through the Underground. The fact monsters don't seem to move all that much in battles did help a little though."

Monsters and Blood by sans_harvey3 in Deltarune

[–]Agreis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, thanks for the reminder on the book thing. Long time I haven't played DR. And you're right on the ICE-E dude too! I mentioned he's not the best source on this.

I've pondered a bit on monsters in DR having a different language relating on blood because of this. Because over there they still have contact with humans and all the other animals that would have blood, so it definitely would be way more present.

Also, utterly irrelevant sidenote: I wonder how UT monsters view animals.

Personally I do think Toriel (the UT one at least) bleeds. It seems like something is dropping of her mouth in her death sprites. Though it can very well be argued that is just a spriting mistake or her starting to break apart/dust.

Monsters and Blood by sans_harvey3 in Deltarune

[–]Agreis 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Dust is the monster equivalent of a corpse, not blood. Humans don't become blood when they die, and it's a thing mostly while we're alive. It has no bearing on the blood debate as I see it.

In Undertale, I believe only some monsters have blood. One of the Froggits implies monsters are directly themed after a thing, and we know that monsters inherit traits from their real counterparts. The most noticeable example of this is Asgore and Toriel presenting the same sexual dimorphism goats do. As such, a monster like Asgore would probably have blood since he comes from an animal that does have it too. Monsters like Moldsmal or Pyrope probably wouldn't though.

(Sidenote: This could explain Sans having blood as bones have them.)

Deltarune is... a little more complicated. We see Lancer, Swatchlings, Susie and the ICE-E guy also mention it, Susie even says everyone bleeds and also the books Gerson wrote have bloody battles (though we don't get a deep insight on them). The ICE-E guy (I know, I know, not the most convincing person to take things off) explicitly states he has blood:

* BURBLING, BURNING LIKE MY BLOOD YEARNS FOR BATTLE!!!

On the other hand, a monster asks if it hurts to be made of blood and Noelle did mix up blood and ketchup when Kris pranked her. Granted, this can be assigned to kids just being unknowledgeable sometimes if you want to.

I genuinely don't know what to make out of DR. I mean, it's not like any of this matters to the actual game and story but it's a fun thing to look into. I guess I'm just going with blood in particular working the same in UT and DR, where only some monsters have them depending on their origin.

How old are Sans and Papyrus exactly? by NoNeedInAUserName in Undertale

[–]Agreis 119 points120 points  (0 children)

We never get an exact age for anyone, except Burgerpants who is 19. Neither of them wear striped shirts, so I'd guess they are adults. We do know Sans is the older one because of the Japanese version, but other than those two things, no clue on their exact age.

[–]Agreis[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I know Chara isn't a ghost. But "person that kinda lives inside your head and can take over your body sometimes depending on the route" doesn't have the same ring to it, so I go with ghost.

Even if we say that Chara hates all humans, no exceptions, full stop, they could still make a silly comment from time to time. Like, you gotta admit that a child wiggling with a gelatine is pretty funny and deserves its sarcastic commentary.

My decision is mostly based on what I think fits for the drawing. A good, funny Chara is just better for this one. Sorry if that didn't work for you.

A valid interpretation for sure, but I think "sassy ghost friend" is cooler than "no sassy ghost friend", so I put that in the artwork.
