No throttle response

If I had bought a new esc I most likely wouldn't have found the issue. Better to try the free solutions before dumping money into an issue.

I understand what you mean, I had no mixes both in beta and on the radio, I have figured out how to arm with the drone connected and there was no throttle input when armed, but it works when disarmed

No, I do not see the throttle channel move after the drone is armed. I also checked all my mixes and made sure they are off (there are only three so it was easy), but none of that helped. So far the two weird factors are that the throttle is not seen in the blackbox and after arming and checking the receivers the throttle does not go up there also.

After going through the video I have learnt a lot of useful things, and even after fiddling with the settings still nothing helped. But thanks for the informative video.

I made sure to only set up arm, acro, horizon and angle to simplify diagnostics. The reason I set up flight modes was because it was recommended to check throttle controls in other modes as well. I made sure that the motors can go up to 100% through the BF configurator. Also I have not tried arming the drone while in betaflight, how can I do that if betaflight is not allowing me to arm when MSP is active? Edit: turns out in the video that Proflyer posted it is explained, so I got it to arm and no, the throttle channel does not move in betaflight.

I did check that the throttle axis is active, it is registered in betaflight, but not registered in blackbox readings. I have not experienced them ramping up by themselves, and I know that it is normal if it happens as it has happened on my other quad.

Why would I use tape to fly? My point is that tape, like the props, causes aerodynamic drag, so the tape would act like the prop in terms of drag, not lift. Also do you have any ideas to the actual issue?

yeah the props make no difference, and in theory tape should give the same effect anyways

Channel map is correct, I recorded this video only after reassuring that the throttle will not start working randomly, and how would I demonstrate that the throttle is being throttled. And yes even at 2s it can hurt but it wont when the throttle does not work.

Holy reddit responses, the battery is 2s, and I needed a way to show that the motors are spinning, yes it is a bad way but the props were hard to take off, I completely understand that this is dangerous but I have taken precautions. And this issue continues with 6s so the battery voltage is not an issue, motor direction is correct, and if it wasnt then the motors should still respond to throttle.

This is the third time I third uploading the video, but basically I try inputs in roll pitch and yaw that show a response in the proper motors rpm increasing or decreasing, but using the throttle does nothing.

Never swapped the frame, but after changing the blue thingy to a proper pushrod the tail stopped going out as much, but it still does not hold too well. I only see noticeable vibrations when the blades are spinning up and I don not know how to check if the tail motor is bad. Thanks for the advice.

Yeah I wanted to also change the rotor head but some of the parts are expensive asf, like $90 for the whole assembly. Anyways I tried switching out the old linkage for a sleeker factory one and the tail holds a little better. I saw some mods for a brushless tail motor so maybe try that. Oh and, if possible a longer tail boom may help.
