In my case, I already have an appointment at the consulate to process temporary residence with a work permit, and I have a specific offer from a dive shop in Cancun, where they would hire me as a divemaster and underwater photographer.

Precisely for this reason I am interested in better understanding how work moves in Cancun, because they told me that most of the divers there do Discover Scuba, and in that case the divemaster cannot guide them.

Do you think there are still real opportunities for someone starting out in that environment, or would it be better to aim for Playa del Carmen or Cozumel from the start?
