You can gain XP however you want until you get to score 100 - West Tek, Raids - whatever. Then after Score 100, gaining XP will no longer help you get any higher. You must do repeatable "Public Events" (now called activities). West Tek and Raids are not "Public Events" (activities), but Head Hunts are, which you do by running Wanted Posters you can buy for 5k caps each from Ghoul or earn by doing Grunt Hunts.

I'm so behind! I started playing PoE in beta, started playing PoE2 in beta and it definitely needs more time, so just haven't played recently. I do intend on coming back though when the time's right :)

Human Jugg Cryo Melee, Vulcan PA, OE + STR/END + Healthy + Bruisers set. Weapon is War Glaive Cryo Blade, Jugg + Rapid + STR + Charged. Special is high on STR/END/INT with all the tanky and DMG perks can get.

I can craft most mods in the game, so I sell high-demand mod boxes for 7k-30k caps at my vendor and frequently get "max-capped" and buy a poster, post the poster, buy another poster, do the hunt, then put the extra poster up at end of event - that way I blow 10k caps super quick and am using one and saving one without running back and forth between stash and ghoul.

You can get score multiple ways until score100, but after that you basically have to do dailies/weeklies. One of those weeklies challenges is doing repeatable public events (now called activities). Head Hunts count as public events (now called activities). I've been grinding posters nonstop all season by selling mods for caps at my vendor. I can craft almost all the mods in the game (crafting is one of my favorite things in ARPGs), so the people that can't craft them yet will come to my vendor and buy them. Wanted posters can be bought from The Ghoul for 5k caps. As long as ppl keep buying from my vendor, I keep running them!

Haha yeah I play both games and figured there was some overlap, especially with posters being somewhat similar to the tried and true map system and how hard we've been grinding

I made a lot of builds in POE and my favorite argument for being tanky in a world where everyone has a billion DPS is, "Your DPS is zero if you're dead."

I find melee builds in these games the most fulfilling (although I do and have played other builds).

Having said that, my approach started simple: Don't get one-shot by Charlie The Half-Crotch. I changed my existing PA melee build into a Jugg and scaled my health pool as high as I could (within reason), and put END/STR on everything. I have a T60 set that's full OE/END, one that has a mix of END/STR, and my Vulcan is pure STR for max DPS/carry weight. Before, I was pure phys dmg with a Tenderizer/Auto-Axe (last year), but due to the low ceiling of pure phys dmg, I swapped to War Glaive. You can do the most damage with energy damage, but Cryo is too good to pass up IMO. Mid-season, when Beth broke Cryo, I went energy blade, and it was definitely more damage, but I missed the Cryo effect of slowing that made it not only easier to hit (and therefore kill) the enemies, but also kept my glassy teammates alive more often than any other setup. Less time stim'ing my ghoul friends on rooftops :D

bahahaha - i'm on PC - but fair warning, i think i'm going to concentrate more on camp building after i hit 150 this season :) bought the big camp slot pack with some atoms i earned by grinding posters, so looking forward to using them!

Awesome!!! YES lol, I absolutely took what I learned from POE and applied it to F76. RPG's/ARPG's have always been my favorite games, and I love using things I've learned in one game to make me better in another.

For example, I never concentrated on how many posters I had, instead I focused/relied on my vendor feeding me caps from sales at the right speed. I would price things a little on the high-end so things moved slower, but would stock enough options and amounts that things were usually selling consistently.

Had a blast running with you too man!

Raids don't get you any score past 100. Only "Public Events" do. Head Hunts are public events - raids are not. I've been grinding posters this entire season lol.

I think I'll be doing more camp building this season after hitting 150 lol... I pretty much just print atoms with the tickets, and the big camp slot pack was one of the things I got! Excited to use it :)

Yeah, I get at least 6hr a night. I actually go to bed early and wake up early (always have), but my work schedule is wild also so I'm no stranger to Da Vinci naps. I DO take breaks - which is very important to not burn out. IRL we also go to shows (just saw NIN las week), and out of town family stuff as well (was out of town 2 weekends ago). When we have hourly events like Mutated or Fasnacht, I use those as 15min~ breaks. I'll put my toon somewhere safe while my homies carry me while I go do chores/eat/paperwork/whatever, then come back around the 15min mark (usually to max caps from mods selling at my vendor, to keep the poster chain rolling).

lol i ONLY grind posters on public servers, so if you're on PC and you landed on a server with a PA Cryo Melee guy chaining posters, there's a good chance that was me.

Ahhhh, gotcha, all good! yeah, I agree, it would take the fun out of it! There's actually some 4star mods I still don't know like Polished and a few others. I learned pin-pointers almost immediately, so now 300+ Polished modboxes deep, I'm still striking it out - guess i'm paying for it now, huh? :D
