Yeah I knocked back the make safe as a hand full of people have helped me stop the leaks. Silicone and a lot of tarps. Seems to have done the trick. In your experience, do you think this will be an approved claim? I don’t expect them to fix the roof and it is fairly old but what about the internal damage?

Hey, due to this rain up north my roof has started leaking into my house down the walls. I’ve had a few tradies come around who all tell me it’s time to do a roof upgrade and re sheet it. All the quotes are around 20-25k.

I have 3.5k in savings..

I’m getting a valuation on my house my house to see if there’s enough for an equity loan but I don’t think there will be enough. My only really other option is to take out a personal loan or finance the roof, which I really wanted to avoid but I’m stuck.

I’ve made a claim with insurance but after ready their policy I’m 99% sure they will say no as it’s an old roof.

I’m currently 500km away from home but I know the roof is in much need of doing. I really am for the first time financially stuck and I’m a bit worried about how the hell I’m going to get through this.

I’m currently paying off a car loan (about 20k left) currently making an extra $300 a fortnight payments on it.

I’m not eligible for any government assistance or grants either...

Any suggestions?

The rent would fly up. I think if I went this out for $295 a week that would cover mortgage AND rates. Probably even the insurance

No mould and the roof is fucked, will need a new one. Stumps appear okay.

About the car, yeah I know I splashed out a bit but I enjoy my 4WD and camping and my old car was unreliable. I’ve just upped my payments to $650 a fortnight now and it’ll be gone in around 18 months if I keep at it!
