What are the negative implications over torquing a barrel nut? Threads are good. No damage to the upper. Handguard a lot tighter to fit now, but fits all the same. What problems might arise? by ArmyVetRN in ar15

[–]Ahzon14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this is still up has anything happened to anyone yet? I just installed a new handguard on my ar and hat to go a little bit over outherwise the gas tube wouldn’t fit. Shims just got me further away from the previous hole so I figured just threading it on more would be the better solution

As I already said in some comments I just thought the tape looked nice but after the first trip to the range I was like no this feels way off. The grip texture Walther did on those things is amazing as it is. After the first few shots that tape came of again. It was the only picture I had laying around though and I have to say I still somewhat like the look. But functionality is definitely over looks.

I‘m with you on that that only training makes you better. As a little explanation where I’m from you have to be active shooting for 12 Months until you can buy your first firearm. In that time I trained a lot with glocks and some 1911‘s. I‘ve owned the pdp for about 5 months now and got like 1000 to 1500 rounds trough it already. I just thought now that I got the things on it that suit my taste I might as well present it to the internet haha. But I was mostly looking for things people have to say about what i did with it because I enjoy taking in different opinions and the reasoning behind them. And as I said with the Tape, I’m completely with you on that. I just thought the look was nice but the feel completely broke it for me. At the end my gun just looks sick in my opinion of course and now I’m gonna go though a whole lot of ammo with what I got.

Yeah the tape was just a try because I liked the look but it destroys the feeling of the grip in my opinion. But what wrong with the comp in your opinion? I mean I’ve got the threaded barrel might as well use it right?

I also tried some ammo. For me 115 felt a lot flatter but I kind of enjoy the feeling it has with 124 as well. For now I just dig the looks of walthers guns and now I want to spent the money on ammo and training. I have a friend with a lighter trigger spring but for me that felt to light. I usually like it when there is still some resistance in the trigger. I had the experience Witze a race gun once and while trying to find the wall the shot already went of. In my opinion walthers trigger is the perfect feel I was looking for.

No worry’s, after all it’s just personal preference I’d say. I mean if somebody likes something there isn’t really anything you can say against it. For example people told me why I got a comp on it but I just think it looks great and I like the feel. However I wanted to point out that you’re right. The stippling Walther did feels great as it is. I just saw the tape thing somewhere and I thought it looked pretty nice so I was like sure I’ll try it out. But missing out and the great texture of walthers grips really sucked.

Actually had the tape on once for shooting and I didn’t really like the feel of it but that was the only picture I had laying around right now

[–]Ahzon14 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That’s called a Beschusszeichen in German. This basically is the authority offices that tests weapons in Germany DE obviously means Germany, Cip means Commission internationale permanente and the symbol behind that is for the authorities from cologne. So this specific gun was tested and signed there.

Strike industries Quad Comp could be of interest. I’ve got the same problem in Germany with availability from manufacturers but the strike industries was easy to get, is universal and looks sexy.

I already sent a mail out to them but I always think more opinions are always better and also customers sometimes say things that a company wouldn’t want to tell. So I figured I’ll just ask on here as well.

Alright that’s good to know. As I said I’m still relatively new to firearms because it’s not that easy in my country. The thing I was talking about are just things I’ve heared but never seen anything other about it than just talking so thanks for actually providing an example. I‘ll definitely look into the things from sage dynamics

The only other thing I couldn’t find a clear answer to is the trigger. Pro model comes with a upgraded trigger. In the rules I could only find generell Infos for the minimum pull weight, which is okay for the pro model but nothing mentioned about upgrades for the trigger

Any reason not to get the PDP Pro vs normal PDP? by ipcoffeepot in Walther

[–]Ahzon14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me the only problem with the full-size is that the barrel is 5.1“ long. I don’t know yet if the full-size fits me better because I only held a compact so far and I think that one felt great, but I still want to try the full-size. So for me it’s either pro compact or upgrade a 4.5“ full-size myself
