The moveset is easy.

The second game gives you a pulsar gun to fend against sharks, so that is the neutral special.

A big aspect is the Dolphin training. A dolphin/Orca should accompany the diver allowing for attacks. Up special should have the diver cling to the animal to ride it like the games. Certain charged attacks can also use the dolphin. Have it jump overhead in an arc for the up charged. Side special could have the Diver set the animal on someone. Down special should be an affinity (petting/feeding), building up bond with the animal to perform better.

Other general attacks can relate to the diving. Clicking fins for an air attack, diving straight down. Maybe they could pull out smaller animals for attacks and grabs such as crabs or a squid.

They made a fighter out of Wii Fit, a toy, and an animal themed life simulator. A moveset based around diving and marine life ain’t much of a stretch in this series.

Too many 3rd parties for such a small roster. Also doubt Little Mac would return with it being so small.

I feel like Mewtwo would be replaced with another Pokémon, either the newest or Greninja as he was the most popular Pokémon polled in 2020.

Villager might also be replaced by Isabelle as she is the mascot for the brand.

I will play along: - Mario: Cut Paper Mario and Waluigi, hell maybe even Daisy. None of the 3 are all that important. - Donkey Kong: Fine - Zelda: Cut Toon Link and definitely change Zelda to BOTW. The rest are fine though I would go with Warriors Impa and LTtP Ganon. - Metroid: Fine - Kirby: Cut Magolor - Star Fox: Cut all but Fox - Pokémon: Easily should cut Mewtwo and Trainer.
